Earth Juice and Soiless question

hello everyone.

I couple of quick questions:

1-does anyone know if the EJ grow is supposed to be of a thick, almost sludge consistancy??? or has mine gone bad??

2- I am using a pretty basic soiless mix. just promix, perlite, worm castings and a little lime. Is this more like an organic soil (does it act as a buffer) or hydro (where there is no buffer)???

3- does anyone use a similar mix? If so, how often do you feed it (the plants)??

4- can beneficial micro-organisms live in this type of soil??

Hopefully someone will be able to answer these questions for me. :chin:

I did something wrong with this last grow. I think that it may have been underfeeding. just do not want to make the same mistake twice. :badday:

thanks in advance.......

peace :sasmokin:

I may not be answering your questions...

But if you are asking if earth juice is good or not...

May I suggest you use something else...

Having worked sick plants for some time I have seen more problems with earth juice than any other fert....

I would strongly suggest even if the stuff is good to move to a more user friendly fertilizer..... like pro blend...

That is what I plan on doing (switching to pure blend). Even though I have had great results with EJ products in the past. I just have almost a gallon of EJ grow and bloom and wanted to use it up. :chin:

1. ej grow and bloom are borderline liquid - sludge i dont think theres anything wrong with yours.

2. from what i can tell only the EWC will add any sort of real nutrients so i would feed like its a soiless mix. and its more like organic soil.

3. yes i do and i feed every two days.

4. They will thrive in this environment!!

if you want to learn more about EJ, check out a thread i created about EJ. Peace Fresh.

Hey fresh

Thanks for the response.

I have a couple more questions.

You say you feed every two days. Do you water w/plain water in between feedings?

Will vinegar (PH down) effect EJ in any negative way? my tap water is very alkaline.

I have it bubbling now. they are just waiting to be fed later this evening.:D

thanks again

ps. I recently got a sample of subculture. Have you used it? Do you think it would work well it conjunction with EJ?

1. A good grower is at one with his plants, meaning i do what my plants tell me to do, i dont just use any fertilizer program. With pure organics its possible to feed with every watering like i do. But There are times when i give my plants plain water when i feel like they need it. THe second last week i feed fulvic acid and then last week plain water.

whats the ph of your tap water??? i have ph of 7 right now, and EJ has a very acidic PH and after i add it to my water i let it bubble for 24 hours and its usually around 5.5-7 which is more than fine. Especially since youve already added dolomite lime to your soil which will help stabilize the soil ph. good growing bro. fresh

I dont think sludge is a good thing.. well depending on what ude call sludge. My Bloom gets bubbley from when I shake it but it still looks like mostly like chocolate milkshake. It should be thick but if theres any chunks or anything, its probably spoiled.

hey taproot :joint:

No "chunks" in my grow formula. Just very thick, but still quite smooth. :chin:

My bloom formula is the same as yours...... looks like a chocolate milkshake.

thanks for poopin' in!

store you nutes in a cool dry place and shake them every couple of weeks to prevent shit settling and chunking up.

I use EJ bloom late in flowering. I let it set several days in solution before I use it. Since my soil has dolomitic lime, any excess acidity is buffered. Like I said, I use it the last 3 weeks of flowering. it rock phosphate and phosphuric acid that looks like a chocalate milkshake. Very acidic stuff that has to be mixed in advance before you dump it on your plants.

From what I remember EJ grow is supposed to be a thick, brown sludge just like Bio-Bizz grow. The only problem I had with letting my EJ grow sit for a long time was it started to dry and crust up around the inside of the bottle but it was still good to use.

I used to use nothing but Earth Juice grow and bloom and had fantastic results but my local hydro store no longer stocks it so I've reverted to the Bio-Bizz range and I am not as impressed...the buds seem to lack that special flavour you only get from EJ.

Keep the ph in check by letting your nutes sit for 24 hours before use and you should be good.
