Early Wonder Skunk

Is Early Wonder Skunk a true 100% Auto Flowering plant?

They say harvest outdoors between July - August, but I thought with Auto Flower strains you could grow in any lighting and all year round outdoors.

nope, any substantial drop in light can initiate flowering, 24/0 to 18/6 or 12/12

environmental issues/factors have also been known to trigger flowering.

Semi-Autos interest me, i will play around with these in the next couple of years (i like clones!) ;)

So if I started an Early Wonder Skunk indoors under 24/0 light for a couple weeks then transplanted it outdoors, it would flower?

quite possibly, if it was gorrila gold or mighty mite then yeah it probably would.

to be honest i have no experience with this strain, but a true semi-auto should.

A true Auto plant will flower under 24/0 based on age , some say that it must show sex within a certain amount of days but i consider it based on light schedule alone.

A Semi-Auto plant will flower based on other factors, ie a reduction of light above the usual 12/12 of regular strains or possible environmental conditions. I have known people have a Semi-Auto plant flower under 24/0 after a root trim and transplant, stress induced flowering? quite possibly.

For a cross to be Semi-Auto in my opinion it should flower at 18/6 or above, 14/10 i would say is just a regular strain (thats not so picky about light schedules!)

I have flowered regular strains at 13/11 by mistake before, and often run sativas at 10/14 to speed the finish up so theres no set rule that you have to use 12/12 for regular strains either.

Hope that makes sense and you helps you out, i was confused (very confused) by the auto phenomenon a few years back when i was gifted both low#1 and a Semi-Auto clone. I thought they would be the same, on a constant 20/4 light schedule i was left with some very small low#1 (genetics) and a very late and very large Semi-Auto that flowered based on age and not light schedule change!

Peace,

trouble growing Early Wonder Skunk

Hi,After asking several questions to the folks at Vancouver Seed Bank about which seeds I could still plant in mid June in southern Québec,I ordered their recommended 10 Early Wonder Skunk seeds on June 8 and recieved them on June 13.I germinated them in water and nine germinated.I then planted them in potting soil and put them in the sun.Only three plants came up and now on July 15 they appear to be no longer growing and probably stunted.I did everything right and water them with water from my own private well which I had tested.I suspect that either the seeds were duds or it was too late to plant them despite what they told me.Does anyone have any comments about this? Thanks.

Hey everyone, sorry to be slightly of topic, but I am wondering if anyone knows anything about an Early Wonder Skunk x Hashplant clone that is around Ontario and Quebec?

I acquired this clone from a friend and , while it is a great plant, I don't know anything about its history or lineage. If anyone has any info please let me know. The plant itself is a very quick finisher, does well outdoors up north, and tastes like straight up hash, with a slight afghan/skunk flavor. It is also a semi-auto, I have to use 19-20 hours light per day to keep her vegging. I never tried EWS in a pure form, but I enjoy the EWS x HP anyway.

Thanks for any info, I love to be knowledgeable about my strain library, and I really don't know anything about this clone!
