DWC Res Questions

Heres my grow so far. Im day 37 from seed. I have two 5 gallon DWC Buckets

-Ph is between 5.8-6.2
-PPM around 300
-Using tap water (ppm around 150-160)
-Using GH 3 Part Flora series (2ml of each for each reservoir)

My question is when do i top off the res? Does the water level have to be 1/2 inch under the net pot at all times or close to it? I never really understood that part of DWC. So far iv topped off each res twice since i started this grow. I just used plain tap water and filled up the bucket to the white line and phd the res down to 5.8-6.0. I never added nutes just tap water.

Top off? You mean Flush or Beginning Flush.. Norm 2-3 weeks
Once the Roots are Established even 4+" is ok
Gone WAY Lower at times no prob......

Top off every day or 2. I think you will notice that your plants are drinking a lot of solution. The solution should be just under the pot but you can let it go down as well. It will happen anyway but you should still top off every day or 2 because the solution PPM/EC will build up very fast with how much they water they can use in a short time.

Until the roots are Fairly well developed I don't Bother with Topping up (off) I will just change the Nutes
The spray from the Airstone wets the Base of the Media from at least 8" away..
But yea with the 12 I have on a recirculating circuit that are to be reconstructed next grow (because of 2x Leaky Buckets) I top up everyday ish

...switch to hempy buckets and forget all that bullshit.

passive hydroponics is simple, nearly foolproof and nearly as effective as DWC without most of the work and worry.

...these were grown under a 400CMH and you'll notice that they were grown in 2liter Coke-bottle coco hempy's and each yielded nearly 2 zipz so that's just shy of a quarter elbow in less than 4 liters of coco.

passive hydro FTW! ...all the benefits of hydroponics without the headaches.
