DWC plant not doing so swell

R

Reinhold

Ok guys, I have one DWC bucket running with air pump and stone and have a Blueberry Thunderfuck which had been doing well in it feeding it GH Veg nutes with RO water with the correct PH levels.

Its under a 1000w light now but recently I had to replace the bulb after it broke so the plant had been without an hps light for almost a week, I just had some fluros around it and had it in the window. At that time it seemed to be just remaining dormant nothing really happening.

Now yesterday I changed the water in the bucket and also put it back under the hps, but almost instantly the plant drooped and now I check on it today and the leafs are getting crispy and drying up on the tips. Is this because of the light or some other problem? The roots arnt really slimy or anything just a tad yellow/

Thanks for the help guys

its not used to the bright light that it has been without for a week in my opinion....how close is the light to the plant? the plant is stressed but should bounce back in a few days

i'm not sure that is the cause of your problem-SOME of your new growth looks OK-onl some fan leaves are displaying the crispy leaves so it's most likely a complication from the lack of adequate lighting and slowed growth to turbo charging it with a new 1000 bulb and nute change
Did you add anything different or up the nutes this time around to your reservoir?

yeah theres nothing else abnormal that I added to the rez, I just changed the water and gave the plant a feeding as before. The lights about 2 feet away, Im pretty sure its just as you guys said with the light because it was doing fine just growing slowly but then literally it seemed like minutes after I put it under the hps it drooped down.

Thanks for the help guys.

I've found sometimes when my plants are really small it helps them ease into heavy light by cutting the hours back to 16on/8 off, keep the light far backed off and bring them close as they grow out, turn it on/off with another light in the room to keep the cycle proper, and in general anything that reduces the intensity of the light.

Nice lookin roots though. You keep them lookin like that and you'll be just fine.

One of your pics shows the leaves folding up like a taco - this is a sure sign of heat stress. That combined with the darkness of some of the other leaves (nute burn), this lady needs some assistance asap.

Yeah, cause I had it in a pretty hot room for a day or so, but now its been in an ac controlled environment and seems to be doing much better, not drooping, new growth so seems good so far.

Do u have a airstone hooked up to it looks like it is just an open end tube to me? Also why did you make that lid cover with wood next time just tape it up with some aluminum tape and it will reflect light back to your plant aswell. Nice roots though!

yeah I have an airstone hooked up to it, lol i made it with wood because i didnt have any tape haha. Yeah is it normal for the roots to get yellow though? Theres still white at the bottom but the rest is yellow

roots get stained slightly as they get older, but make sure your roots don't get slimy and brown. Mychorhizzoa and trichoderma innoculants will kurb root disease, which DWC is pretty prone to if your water temps are over 68 or so.

yeah when i smell my roots they kinda smell a little weird kinda like vegetables id guess? The temps in the res had been in the 70s but I've been lowering them trying to keep it somewhere between 65-70.

Other than that had just been flushing the plant and not feeding it and it doesnt seem to have really grown that much. I know the leafs wont recover so they just gradually get worse and fall off right? till replaced by new growth?

Im gonna start to flower the plant tommorow but now Im not sure cause I want to get this problem worked out.

I also took 3 cuts off the plant today and fed it half strength gh bloom
stuff.

Heres some pics of the plant now

one tsp (5ml) everyday or two tsp+ 2-3 times a week. (assuming 3% H2O2)

Also:

Whats your water source?
Whats your pH?
Edit: -solution temps? Nevermind I can't read :bat:

Prior to transitioning was it your intention to flush?
Are you solely using GH bloom now?

my water source is the store lol, I had been using RO water and then topped it off with ph adjusted tap water to flush with and yeahI just figured Id flush incase it was a burn

the ph is right around 5
yeah solely using gh bloom now, gonna feed about once a week right?

Yeah Im in the veg state but was going to start flowering the plant today.

Yeah Im thinking of chopping it but I can still take clones sucessfully from it right? Cause at least then I can get some more clones from this thing hopefully.

take clones put them in a cup of water for a couple of hrs...they will perk back up...then put them in your medium or cloner
