DWC chiller sizing ?

So I'm 95% positive I know the answer already, but its worth asking if I'm wrong.

What size water chiller would I need for 300 gallons in a recirculating DWC?

I would say a 1/2hp.

Depending on ambient and also how well you insulate it, but a 1/2 HP would be the minimum you'll want... unless you want that chiller running all the time. Insulate your buckets / containers & lines, it will help tremendously.

1/2 HP chillers should be ~6k BTU.

Insulation is true....

But sorry guys, it would actually probably be closer 3/4 - 1 HP.
