I grew Dutch Treat 2 years in a row. One year outside and the following in greenhouse because I was at a high altitude with below freezing nights in Aug with near 100 in the day.

I did well with the strain both years. Inside the greenhouse was like no other pot I had grown before though. I had 3 phenos. One was garbage but the other two were fantastic.

The one turned the color of red wine and the resin coated the leaves so thick that you could hardly tell they were leaves coming out of those buds. The second good pheno was the same but stayed green with white frost. I had some polaroids somewhere. Maybe I can find them since I'm packing to move.

The smoke of these two were a very heavy indica high. The taste was rather harsh though and from what I remember other growers were saying it was similar.

I used bat guano in the green house. That gave it a better taste but still pretty rough.

Outdoors the yield was decent but not as greasy. I didnt get that intense color but still it was turning reddish purple. I had the green one outdoors also.

I harvested it end of Sept. No problems with rot.

dutch treat is 80% indica. It is strong grower which finishes in 7-8 weeks or outdor in mid or late september here in cali. some plants trun dark while others stay light green but the smell and taste is in the citrus family, like sweet oranges and lemons. The yield is big and the stone is stimulating. The colas get hugh and sticky. Hope that was enough info for you, good luck

I would not say that people don't like the seeds, they come from a vendor that is not hyped and is not that popular. They might be the bomb, I have some that I am going to run this summer, so we shall see. I hope they are kick ass! Good luck

West coast seeds sells them also. I think they were created in holland, but I do not no by whom. I think I have a pack of each one from east island and one from west coast.

Sativa,

I couldn't give you an accurate description of what the poor pheno looked like in veg off of memory and have faith you can find it.

You have to understand that I've grown well over 100 strains now. Only reason this one stands out from the others I never continued to grow was because of the most incredible specimens I ended up with in my greenhouse. Here's what I recall...

I had 7 or 8 seeds sprout. Out of those I think I had 4 females. One ended up auto flowering in early veg so it was tossed. Out of the 3 I had 2 fat leaved indica looking ones and one that was about a half and half. Now I can only assume the thinner one was the non impressive low THC because the other 2 were identical at finish just a different color. Same leaves and branching, same height and colossal amounts of resin. It was just that one was green and one was a crimson reddish wine color.

I did look for those pics. Found all kinds of interesting stuff but no Dutch Treat pics. Sorry. :badday:

My Kindseed"s catalog shows Jordan Of The Islands Seed Co as having Dutch Treat and a few crosses. If you look at the pics of a bunch of their strains it looks to me like they use it as one of their main breeding strains.
