I was able to procure an 1/8th of Dutch Passion's Orange Bud for $60USD on the Northside of Chicago. Here are my impressions:
Overall, I would give this smoke a 7/10.
Appearance (8.5/10):
Nice fluffy nuggets with orange hairs. Good bag appeal.
Smell (6.5/10): Sweet skunky goodness. Smell is not overwhelmingly strong or particularly powerful; it has a bit of citrus in an otherwise sweet skunk smell. I don't know if Dutch Passion named this strain based on its smell or taste as it would be a long stretch to say that it smells like oranges. If the smell was stronger and more towards a definite citrus this score would be higher.
Taste (5/10): Honestly, there isn't much taste to this bud when you smoke it in a joint. In a vaporizer, it produces a flavor similar to the smell but is not really present as an aftertaste on the exhale. Overall very smooth smoke.. goes down easy with little expansion. This score would be higher if I had tasted more on the exhale, especially considering I was using a vaporizer for most of the smoke.
The Buzz (6.5-7/10): The most important and subjective part, the high. I had been smoking some mid-level seeded weed (I would give the midis a 5/10 for buzz, for comparison) throughout the day when I first picked up this bag. The first thought I had when I had exhaled was "This stuff cuts through the midis!". The buzz has some indica and some sativa qualities... it is sativa-up dominant with enough indica to keep you "stoned". It has an average-to-moderately strong buzz for sensimilla smoke. Is it top shelf? Not quite. This score would be higher if the buzz was stronger and longer lasting.
Overall decent sensimilla. I would recommend it to the commercial grower as you will have buds with great bag appeal. I personally would have liked to smoked something with a stronger citrus flavor. I was able to cure these buds over a week and a half in a sealed canning jar and it didn't bring out more flavor or smell.
