It's a great way to "weed" out the inferior growers, reduce competition, keep prices stable...mmm.....just kidding, of course....maybe....

Yup. Since no one listened to me in this area, at the Hydro store. I decided to clam up. Now, most are ruined, and myself and one other are not.

We (after getting control of the scourge) looked at each other after considering quitting after a decade - and decided the above was absolutely true. It has come to pass. Arrogance did most local growers in. Last Men Standing took the time to study, and implement.
Brought 40 cuts down to 4 and saved the genetic. Took 3 generations to do it. This is just the "Crown" bud of one plant, there were 4 or so more large Flower structures.
Good Yield, + copious Essential Oil production = no more Duddage

How are those that have experienced this problem inferior growers? I saved my cultivar also but would like to know what caused the problem in the first place.

From seeing this and talking to lots of growers whove haf my belief is that you got it from bringing a cut into your room. From there it may or may not spread to other cuts. These are all best guests.

god damn its hard to find useful information in this thread due to all the clutter and back and forth shit talking between a few certain members.

can we cut all the BS out and just post relevant information to this?

i just submitted my first samples to the lab should know more in a week.

theres so many "symptoms" of supposed dipsaci that resemble other symptoms of problem….like they say that dipsaci damage could look like wilting in certain parts of the plant, however that also looks exactly like fusarium rot.

Got it Prop. I will be looking forward to your results as I have a giant indoor glue filling a 5x5 area. I hope we get some answers and thank you for taking the time and spending the money to help us all out.

I think many should bring those pictures along over here. Or maybe a dud or suspicious dud would of been nice to see it documented through veg till flower for those who took them that long.

Just my 2 penny's and maybe it would stop the back and forth of a common nute defiency arguements and other non dirtylenchus talks.

Relevant information: Ditylenchus dipsaci, or alfalfa stem nematode is also known as "stem break disease", because the stems get brittle and break. These breaks in the stems open the plant up to all manner of secondary infections, one of them being fusarium. So you can expect to see other symptoms if you have this.

That's good. The wheat gets separated from the chaff, and those growers who don't know what time it is get Darwined from the gene pool. Less supply/better prices=good for those in the "know". And you're only dealing with broad mites. Imagine when these "other" duds get to your neighborhood. Last man standing can name their price. At least we know how to destroy Monsanto, or any other big company that thinks they are going to dominate this industry. It will be so easy to subvert their operations.

youre tripping ifyou think anyone but a bunch of ammatures with no access to a lab would be dealing with this as long as our community has.

monsanto would lick this in a round or two.
i cant say it would be for the faint of heart but they have real scientist. evil ones, good hearted ones, and everything in between. chems, bios and research to crow bar results you and i could never imagine.

just sayin.

we are the boy scouts they are the army corpsse of engineers for the dark empire. fat chance we will be out competing them in industrial production of any crop.

not saying id want anything to do with the herb either but the length of this thread would be considerably shorter if this was legal. mineral nutrition, pests and disease in general can be explored so much more efficiently with lab diagnostics to steer and prove theories. we seem to be stumbling due to the access part.

Funny, because if it were that easy, this problem, which effects crops worldwide and causes significant economic losses, and has for hundreds of years, would have been licked long ago by Monsanto, et. al, wouldn't it? Except it hasn't been licked. That's a fact. What "we've" been dealing with on a very small scale for a relatively short period of time is the same thing "they've" been dealing with for hundreds of years and they haven't fixed it yet.
That wasn't exactly my main point though, regarding the ease with which "we" (O.K., just me if you like) could easily subvert the growing operations of any "GMO" cannabis operation.
Anyway, I'm not tripping. Not even getting high at this point in time. Sounds like you are pretty blazed, though. Enjoy.....

So after reading this whole thread it seems Chitosan, heat, possibly avid, and the deadly class like cyanide etc... Is the primary treatment for these nematodes. Is this about right or did I miss some technological advancements

They're internal IN the plant so not sure if any of these will have an affect.
Spoke w one of the head nematologists at the lab near me today.
He said it all must go through county dept of agriculture before they can check stems.
He did however tell me if they give me any problem to call him back.
He seemed interested in knowing if this particular tode is present.
He also said there would be no charge as these things are very detrimental to the crops they're attacking.
I don't believe they charge for any testing authorized by county gov agency.
This particular species is extremely detrimental to the crops they attack and it doesn't appear to have a quick fix.
I'll try the county gov route then call him back.
I'm sure his scientific curiosity was *aroused*, for lack of better word, when he heard Dit- dipsaci might be present in cannabis.

The cyanide isn't being used by anyone I know of. I was joking around about treating the house. I don't think it would work. plus Jesus, fuck that.

Seriously folks no cyanide. If it gets to that I'll just clean house pop some beans and call it a lost set of genes or round of veg plants. If you find yourself contemplating something like that it's time to just pack it in and scrub. kill everything in your entire space, paint, heat treat, get new pots and start fresh. Fuck cyanide bombs and avid root drenches on plants people are going to smoke or even having that much poison in use at a time where you work. It's not worth it.
