Duck Season

So over the last few months I've become a fan of the Ducksfoot strain... However I began to thought I was too late to get any duck genetics. Until I found the Frisian Duck by Dutch Passion.. I decided that it'd probably be my only chance at ever getting any Duck seeds so I quickly bought 5 of them, just before the price of them was lowered... I was a bit disappointed that I bought them too early but there's nothing that could be done..

After researching into the Frisian Duck strain further, I was able to determine that there are generally two phenos. A purple, much more common pheno which was not a very appealing flavor to most, but produced well. And Green pheno, which inherited more of the original duck genetics, and tasted much better than the purple. However, both are quite late finishers from what I remember (Mid October to Early November), but produced quite well. In my opinion, the Purple pheno created the most beautiful nugs of the two, so it wouldn't be a bad path to pursue for breeding, if however I could improve the taste.

Since then (January) I've been searching for original ducksfoot seeds, or ones which have yet to be crossed. My goal is to find the green pheno in my 5 seeds (if I'm lucky), take as many clones as possible, and then acquire the original ducksfoot seeds to backcross the green pheno with. I will also keep some of the green pheno as clone only, and run it outdoors occasionally if I find it to be more appealing than the ducksfoot x frisian duck back cross. I hope that this back cross will produce some good phenos which I can use to either replace my Green pheno, or to make seeds to share.

If I am unable to find a Green pheno among the Frisian Ducks, I will select the best of the 5 purples, and clone it to keep for the next year. I may work on this while indoors to produce a faster flowering version, which would be much more suitable for many people that are interested in this strain. As well as improving flowering times, I'll try to do a few crosses to create different lines with better flavors.

There is much more for me to say about other versions of the duck which I may be pursuing, but I am awaiting approval from someone before doing so.

So what am I asking of you all? If you have seen any versions of the original ducksfoot available on legitimate sites, please refer me to such sites. If not join in and take a gander at how this all goes :p

I've received approval from the person who is sending me the seeds. The other crosses which I will be pursuing are Auto Duck, and Mini Thunderfuck x Auto Duck. The Mini Thunderfuck cross is currently in the f3 generation, so I will be working to stabilize it to send back to him, and keep some for myself. I'm interested to see how they look because I haven't seen any pictures of how the cross looks yet, so it'll be a completely blind grow.

For the Auto Duck I'll be just doing a run to produce seeds, I'm going to be culling out any weak males or females and leaving the best to produce seeds. I may eventually use some of the seeds I get from the initial seed run to do a Auto Duck x (Ducksfoot x Frisian Duck) cross, if I can find the original ducksfoot seeds. Or I may do a Auto Duck x Frisian Duck cross to get some purple into the Auto Duck genes. But we'll have to see how everything goes this year before going into any of those crosses, although they do interest me quite a bit. I've seen many people requesting an Auto version of the Frisian Duck, and I personally would be interested to see how that cross would go.

I grew the Fris duck last summer. I popped 2 seeds, and had one green and one purple. I crossed them both with pollen from an autoflower dad. Im happy to share a few seeds of the green pheno if you'd live in the states. Not sure what the rules are here with sharing seeds. Hope I'm not breaking any rules.

You should read the TOU agreement.

Thanks. I read the tou and didn't see anything about sharing. I'm not asking for money, not even postage, just willing to share my excess. But if it is prohibited, please let me know, and i won't offer.
