i have just purchased a dark street 120 with a dual 600w and a 5" tt fan and filter have set it up for a test run and the temps are 90+, i thought by getting the 5" fan instead of the 4" i cld have controlled the temps a bit better but that was wrong lol i dont have any fans move the air in the tent yet but will have 2x 6" clip on fans do ya think this will cool it any more and if not what shuld i do

What size and how many intakes do you have? What's the cfm rating on the fan, and what size is your scrubber?

the fan is the inline tt 125mm at 230m3 hr and the filter is the prima kilma 5in filter at 360m3 hr, the room temp the tent is in has a min temp of 65.3f and a high of 73,2 throughout the day i have ordered the 2x 6" clip on fans 2day so i will see what they do when they get here but what do ya think i will need to do if ya need anymore info let me know

That's a lot of watts for a tent that size.

"Conventional wisdom" is that 50 watts per sq. ft is as good as it gets before you lose efficiency ("diminishing returns").

For a 1.2m x 1.2m = 16 sq. ft x 50 Watts = 800 Watts = 2 x 400Ws.....you are running at 75 watts psf.

So first suggestion is to lower your wattage....

Or....

Get rid of the hot air being produced by the lamps more efficiently.....air-cooled hoods, or cooltubes serve this function.....remove the hot air before it leaves the lamp.

If you go this option.....push the hot air out.....rather than pulling it through your fan, if possible....hot air will be harder on the fan, reducing it's effective lifetime.

The circulating fans will help......but probably not by as much as you'd like.

Also....temp readings in an empty tent will always be a little higher than when you have a tent full of plants....

tnks for the reply i dont have the option for a cool tube as ther is only one vent at the top of the tent and i need to have the filter on do ya think if i bought a bigger fan like the 6" ruck and a reducers for the filter wld that make a differnce or if you know a way i can set the cool tube and filter up for one fan that wld be even better

"edit" its only one 600 in the tent its a dual ballast the runs both lights soz for the confusion"edit

You still only need one vent....just a bit more ducting.

Carbon -> Extractor (pulling air in thru carbon) -> aircooled hood or tube -> vent.

Re: bigger fan.....you might get a little improvement....wiser heads might chime in on this....I've never run mine like that.....but I suspect it's again diminishing returns....

Once you get your circ fans......try filling the tent up with house plants....if you can....and check the temps at soil level.....I remember when I first started out perpetual with my tent.....temps were high.....but once the tent was full....things were much more reasonable....you may be surprised......

Edit to add: Don't forget little things like keeping the ballast outside the tent.....it just adds heat.

the only things that will be in the tent are as follows

fan and filter
3x3 flood table
res
2x circ fans

ballast is outside and all ellectrics so i think i will wait and see what the fans do and i will put a few of my peeper plants in from the greenhouse and see what the temps ae like tnks for the info anyone else have any ideas love to here them or even if anyone has the same tent and size of light what they had for climate control and is they had the same problem

Hey there,i'm running a 96x96x96 with a 1000 watter cool tube hood.I am useing 1 6in. fan to blow thru the tube to the outside the building and a 6 in. fan to blow air into the tent.I attached dimmer switches to the fans to keep a more negitive pressure in the tent..(less air going in,more filtered air blowing out..)With that said my return time on the fans have expired. If it had not i would have forsure gone bigger on both...Also would have went with the 2 6oo watter lights with cool tubes....So ya got the lights right IMO but if ya can get bigger fans to move more air...do so.I think that would cool things down for you.
Best of luck
Nite.
