Drying flowers for longer than optimum?

How much 'damage', if any, would leaving buds to dry in a cupboard for a couple of extra days than usual?


If i was going away for a couple of weeks and didn't have a choice, would it be that detrimental?

youd have super crispy buds that wouldn't cure well, if at all.

Leave the fan leaves on and they'll dry slower, if that still doesnt buy you enough days try to stabilize the humidity within the drying chamber at around 60% (enough to keep your buds from turning to dust, but not enough to grow mold)

During fall harvest some of my girls hang for weeks in a climate controlled chamber, the buds essentially cure on the plant instead of in a jar.

There are lots of ways to slow down the drying process, but most of them will introduce the possible threat of mold in you buds. If you leave the buds on the stalks it will really slow down the drying process.

Put some broken earthen clay bits in water for a 24 hour period then leave them in the cupboard with the buds..


Oh you want an answer to your question? Yeah overly dry bud can be really harsh to smoke. You can just stick some earthen clay pieces soaked in water in to rejuvenate the buds later. .... that is if you aren't dead from smoking the buds as some have suggested. lol

Everything depends on the dewpoint,I've had erb go bone dry in a few days when dewpoints are in the 30's,in the 50-60 range and I've let plants hang and lay on the table for a few months sometimes.A humid and dehumid and you set you own dewpoint

as long as its not hot or humid ....
