dry vs. fresh trim to make ISO and ice hash?

I plan to make ISO and ice hash with the trim and lower bud from my 400W scrog. I've made it before with dry material, can I use fresh (not dried) trim? What's better, fresh or dry?

Either works, I'd suggest sticking the fresh trim into the freezer then making the hash.

from my experience...dry is the way to go...bone dry..not like extra crispy ..but like bone dry...wet is very difficult to handle and yeilds were smaller

Thanks to all who responded. Since I had never made hashish with fresh trim, I gave it a shot. Very pleased with the results, I probably got about 3 g of ice hash from 2 OZ of trim and lower bud (rough approximations). The ice hash is the most potent I've ever smoked, great stuff!


After 2 rounds in the mason jar with some ice cubes, I gave the material a 45 sec ISO wash, but the residue was quite disappointing. It's a green powder, not sure if it's smokeable or what it is.

Did you let the plant matter dry before you gave it iso?

Hi Cleo, no i gave my trim an ISO washing while it was still wet from making the ice hash. It takes a while to dry, and some actually started smelling foul, I think it was going bad.
