Heya guys, I have a question for all of you dry sifter.

I usually work with water or other solvents, so the dry sift is not my world... but I often read about people freezing the material before proceed.

I clearly understand why, but the real question is: how about condensation?

I think that if the material is cold and the air hold enough humidity, condensation should quickly form on it.
How about this? Shouldn't be better to work at room temperature without condensation, or maybe it is not so important as I think?

Well...the best would be work in a cold and dry place when sifting but what do you think about, what the experience has told to you?

You're right in your thinking.

I do not pre freeze my dry sieving materials because of those exact reasons you posted. Unless you are doing a very fast run.

One trick to better sift is accomplishing a "processing room" where the a/c and dehumidifier is on full blast to keep temps minimal and low RH. If you have a walk-in freezer, you're in the money. :)

We freeze dried or cured material and run it in the Grinning Reaper without issues with ice formation or condensation.

I find that I do get better results with frozen materials to sift, To avoid condensation do the sifting in a walk in freezer. I store the dry herb over night in the freezer, before I do the work. Even more important is fully dry materials, oh and do not work in a hot or humid environment...

Frozen material sieved in a cold, dry room.

If you are doing small amt. you can use a "shaker box". The shaker box I have is 4-5" square and made by Wicca. Put the shaker box in a gallon ziplock with the dry material (put it inside box) you want to extract the trichomes from, and put it in the freezer. When it is frozen, remove the box and shake for a couple of min. Remove kief, and put box back in freezer. Repeat.
