DREADLOCKS IN PRISON?

this was talked about for less than a minute on OG in past ...but it has come to relevance today for my homie. today.

white w/ dreadlocks in prison?

my boy has had dreads since he was 10 yrs old...he's white 30 yrs old now.....not rasta...but relates.

he's been told by EVERYONE to shave his head....but he refuses.

....he's in florence colorado...federal prison (due to overcrowding in wyoming )...so rules are getting jumbled.


...he was last in rawlins wyoming...where they actually tolerated his dreads.

who here knows any advice on this?...Im his only outside contact.

What did he get arrested for?

I tell you what, man, ive had my dreads for 5 or 6 years, since i was 13-14, and i dont see myself ever cutting them. Give some more details about his situation, cause i dont understand it.

Federal prisons arent full of a bunch of kids that want to prove they are someone. If it was a state prison I would say cut it right away. Of course lets remember its only hair and doesnt make the man ... if it makes it easier in any way i would cut it in a heartbeat. Best of luck to your friend and may his time go by quickly.

he could have had 999 plants and been the same general charge 'Felony possession"

this has been goin forth for months...and has nothing to do w/ me as i have cut ties w/ dude long long ago...but...am still a confidant for him...and we both homies from same local. his parents raised my sister....so we are tight ya dig?

Well federal prison is much easier time as the living conditions are much better.... but.... there is no good time from my understanding. You do the time you are sentenced too. Right now in Cali state they are so crowded that ppl are getting half and third time for non violent crimes.

my sis did federal time for 4 oz of coke, didnt serve her "mandatory minimum", only served half of it--2 years or so. you know what though? fuck her i wouldnt care if she served 20 years. She was a crack dealer, even though my dad was a crack head who stole FOOD STAMPS from us to buy crack.

but man your friend's story is a real tragedy, just some fucked up terrible shit. Marijuana never destroyed anyones life, unless they got ARRESTED FOR IT!. All this overcrowding shit makes me think weed has to be decriminalized out of necessity, at least within the next 20 years.

I still dont see why the dreads are at the top of his worry list.

i know his dreads arent his top priority...but its all relevant.

I talked to homie this hour and he will probably cut them tonight to make life easier in there.

he's had several death threats...and all he is there for is overcrowding a prison in wyoming...where he grew some weed???? whatever??? (he never even sold a drop..but they paroled a rapist to make room for him)

I think i understand now, to some extent. I couldnt possibly imagine what its like in prison, but id cut mine if i was forced to. But man, isnt that great that they let that rapist out, to jail that scum piece of shit marijuana grower? Jesus christ i feel so much more secure now. THANK YOU AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM.
