"Dr. Small is widely known for his work on hemp and marijuana, which has included development of a standard strain that has been the basis of all licensed medicinal marijuana."

Does anybody know more about this....
This man is being breed Hemp and Cannabis from 1969 ?

What is this strain ?
Is that Skunk or something pre skunk ?

The biggest resrch on cannabis was made in mid 70's and thats the time.
Haze, skunk and other strains start to appear...

In my opinion this is the source of today genetics.
To strong players in this UN,DEA (Univeristy of Mississpy), big pharma, world scientist, and police forces from all over the world.
They get seeds from all over the world.

I will read and resrch more about this topic...but I think this is the good start point.

It look much real than stories about some hippy and basement breeders and pollen chuckers.
Or even hermie plants that polinated cut by accident and make fire genetics.

good day has you!
"After 1971, it was decided to conduct cultivation in Ottawa only in more secure indoor areas, and this lasted until 1979. "

I think thats It...and after that seeds find their way out of science facilities...and rest is history.

This book he released a few years ago is fascinating

And it's the 15th book he has authored? Not just that but also lot of interesting research, also on other plants than cannabis. Wow, prolific guy!

The publisher's blurb also mentions this "standard" strain. As much as he is "known for" breeding it, it seems to be impossible to find what that strain is.

Here's another interview with him where he says he was growing a Mexican strain for Health Canada, seems strange if he had the "standard" also:

But this quote from an article called Cannabis Ruderalis History from the Oregon Marijuana Growers Association's Facebook might be the key?
The first documented experiments in crossing drug strain varieties with their Ruderalis cousins were performed by Ernest Small of Agriculture Canada in Ontario during the 1970's, for the aiding in the purposes of taxonomic classification. Crosses between these strains usually produced offspring of intermediate potency.

Perhaps the most known efforts to incorporate Ruderalis traits into drug hybrids are those of Nevil, proprietor of the original Seed Bank, and the person largely responsible for the original dispersion of many of today's drug varieties.

During the 1980's, Nevil experimented with crossing Ruderalis strains to plants such as Mexican, Skunk#1 and several Indicas, in hopes of combining the early flowering of the Ruderalis with the potency and flavor of others.

So is that it? He supplied Nevil with the ruderalis to make Mexican Ruderalis, which then The Joint Doctor used to create Lowryder, in turn the foundation of modern autoflowers?

Lowryder is the worst nightmare due the mold sensitivity.
