DP MasterKush, Strawberry Cough, Twilight 600W Organic grow!

Alright everyone?

This is gonna be some ride. This is my second grow (my first was DP Blueberry 400W) and having had two monster plants I've decided to go a different route. (a bit ambitious I know!)

The plan:

Femmed Dutch Passion - MasterKush, Twilight, and Strawberry Cough.



I chose these for a variety of reasons. I've never grown a purple strain (blueberry had no purple phenos), I've never tried kush and heard lots about it. I chose Strawberry Cough because of its anti anxiety properties. I suffer from depression and anxiety as well as insomnia so this part of my grow is strictly medical.

Just to make things clear, this is a grow for personal consumption and friends, I'm not into selling.

Seeds arrived - All looking good, I decided to germ half of each pack, and chose the seeds that looked the most different - not sure if that makes any difference.

I decided to go all organic, I don't normally buy organic veg but thought what the hey.

I've gone with a budbox xl, suits my needs perfectly and its cheap. Easy to assemble, and seems great quality, sturdy zips and metal poles. Seriously easy going!






Lighting:

600W cooltube with Growlux Dual Spectrum light - I'll be using this all the way through. Ruck fan and carbon filter on this too.

Seeds have been soaked overnight and have already started to show taproots!

4/5 of the Twilight are showing little white shoots.

2/5 of the MasterKush are showing.

1/5 of the Strawberry Cough.


So here comes the paper towel method!




My grow room is currently undergoing 24 hour testing and I'm monitoring the temps inside and outside of the budbox.

Nice looking setup bro,clean and efficient. I've always been keen on the grow tents but my cheap and nasty side gets the better Impressive line up of strains, that strawberry cough is a nice smoke. I try and stay away from the "anxiety" strains and found SC made good work of that.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to watching this thread out to the finish.

cheers guys, my last grow was a real messy grow just kinda thrown together so this time I wanted to have a little bit of organisation.

My tent has been running for about 6 hours now and is holding at 80.9f and RH of 40%. The temps outside the tent are 78.2f and rising so I'll have to sort some kind of secondary ventilation for the room (arf, its in the basement.... I'll see if more fans work).

Jack Crevalle - the soil I have is Plagron Light Mix, I'll post further details when the seeds have germinated.

Thanks for stopping by guys.

I've had the light/fan running for 12 hours now, and I'm gonna have to do some tinkering. The temp inside the tent has made it to 85f, outside 81f.

I've got my grow running in the basement which has a usual temp of around 65f, so the heat being pushed out by the 600W is too much for the room to be sealed with the tent inside. Tomorrow I'm going to try rigging the exhaust to the ventilation system of the house and hopefully this will bring temps down all round.

I've heard that lower temps help with the purple so fingers crossed.

Next day!

Decided to try and sort out my temperature problems. Handily enough, theres a vent in the room I'm growing in.


After a bit of shuffiling the tent around, voila!

Things are looking up.

Checked how my seeds were doing today, and found this beast lurking in the Twilight box.

Tiny little yellow leaves breaking out of the seed case

I chose the best 4 of each (I'm aiming for 9 plants, so before going into flowering I will choose the best 3 of each strain), and moved onto potting. Sterilised all the pots, very important as I'm reusing old ones.




Water test, pH of my tap water is approx 7.5 (I have a private water supply that recieves no treatment, so no chlorine etc.)



I then saturated some soil in a pot and measured the run off - came out about pH 6. Alls good.




Soil in pots, lightly watered -> made a hole with my pinky up the the first joint, carefully (not touching the root) popped the seeds in, and covered.

Tada!





All pots tagged, covered with cling film ( Saran wrap ) and will leave them like this to keep them humid until I get shoots! Placed them in the bottom of my tent which is now staying in the high 70s.

Sick, I have 3 Strawberry Diesel at that stage also. Hopefully I can just find female or two to taste the line, maybe even find a keeper? I'm going slow because I already have 3 other moms, and room and board is tight for any new additions...

Yeah man, all of them should be out the dirt by Thursday. Are you going to make any seeds? out of the lower buds? and send them this way ?
How long are you thinking of vegging them?

Lucky you got the room temps under control for the summer, you can have it as floor heating in the winter, if you leave the temperature. Just get some sativa strains.

I reckon I'm gonna veg for 3 weeks then get the flowering under way, I'll see how it goes. With my last grow I vegged for 5 weeks, and ended up with beasts. I had 2 blueberries at about 6 foot and they were out of control lol. I'm thinking of doing a scrog, depends how each strain grows.
