Double switch breaker

lets say the breaker box has some switches that use 2 breakers. 1 switch that flips 2 breakers. each says 20 amps. is that 40amps or just still 20 amps?

Its good for 20A,its a 2 pole or breaker for a 240V circuit.

It is 20amps at 220v. Use it to run 220 ballasts or hook up a sub panel to it and wire 110 for your needs
