What is dolimite sold as. Are there any brand names? Some dolimite contains lead. How can you avoid this?

The analysis on the bag (by law has to be there) will state that it contains both calcium and magnesium carbonates. Look for powdered/ground instead of pelletized. If you can only find calcitic lime (lacking magnesium), you can use that but you will need to drench the soil/add to your water epsom salts.

You can always order some online. A place that I buy from locally, called Plant It Earth, has an online store that sells it. It's not powderized, but more like table salt texture.

Ya plant it Earth has it and is a great place. If you are lookin for a deal on dolemite I have found Orchard supply carries 25 pound bags for like 10 to 15 bucks of the whitney's farm dolemite lime. Peace

It's just one bag its 25 lbs ...i have seen the small ones you speak of but this is a big ole bag. You only gotta buy one bag. It's way cheaper in bulk i guess.

Use your local Yellow Pages to call area home & garden supply outlets. Farm & garden, agriculture co-ops and nurseries may have it. Even call hardware stores. A 50 pound bag usually costs less than $5.
