Dogs , Share your stories. (the best security) ????

hey guys i am new to the site. im from the uk (somwhere) and i was wondering how many boys and girls have dogs as security, now not as in big mean ass presa's but family dogs who are better than any alarm you can buy. i own english bull terrier and feel SO safe whenever im with him., he never leaves my side. this has helped me out many times, for example:

Police: what are you doing here at this time of night?

Me: im walking the dog

Police:eek:h okay. ( my dog barking like hell)

Me: Hes not too good with strangers..... ;-)

Police: oh okay ill leave you be....

see its a instant excuse too!! its helped me out many times. :)

i'd love to hear how your dogs have helped you out, as you'll learn im dog mad, so share your stories and let me know how amazing your dog is!!

so to all the people out there dont buy a alarm, buy a dog!!!

safe growing, and peace to all you guys and your wonderful dogs too!!!

It's Spuds McKenzie!(he does look like him)(MeAndMyDogs dog)
Beautiful Dog!

I have, in addition to two little dogs, a 93lb pit bulll that strikes fear in the hearts of all that come within 50 feet of him.
I used to live in a cool, but sometwhat rough neighborhood, where we would average about a dozen break ins a year on our block, never at my house though.
This is a dog that when I'm walking him down the block, people will cross the street to avoid passing close to him.

I always feel safe with him in the house.

Truth be known he is a big sweetheart, who worries about everything, and gets picked on by the two little dogs everyday.
But man does he look and sound scary

I love my dog, but she's useless. She did helpfully lick my face while my hands were being tied up, and she does bark, but that's it as far as any kind of protection is concerned.

I'm getting another dog.

I have a 18 month old Cane Corso. He is roughly 115 lbs. and still very much a pup. Most of the time when new people see him all they can say is, "Damn that is a big dog". He is trained to bite on command or if I am attacked. He is an awesome family dog as well, my two girls ride him like a horse. He is very much a big baby and tries to be a lap dog, until it's time to go to work, then look out. He loves all other dogs but is weary of people, especially when the kids are around.

this is my Scooby Doo, a rescue dog. she's a great little dog always (ALWAYS) looking for that next morsel of food or biscuit. I'm sure she was looking @ the camera hoping it would turn into a biscuit.

A story???

Scooby's recently had access to a corner of my building that has an old retail display case in it, the back of the display case is a mirror and so she now sees a dog staring back at her, she's mesmerized and as it's very near the front door she scrambles outside expecting to find the dog she thinks she's seeing through a window.

she considers that the dog isn't there in a few seconds and goes about her business as usual but when we come back inside she runs around to that display case pronto to check it out, she never barks at her reflection. I like that, I'm going to cover that unit back up again so she doesn't somehow run through the glass one day in one of her wild 'Scooby' moments, oh boy, she's got her moments.......

I have two pit bulls. One is 6 years old and his son who is 13 weeks old.

The father is a fun dog, very beautiful, but when a stranger comes to the door he kind of comes unleashed. He gets in an aggressive lunging posture and lets out a roaring bark that would make most reconsider unauthorized entry. The pup is learning so much from him. Dogs really learn most of what they know from other dogs.

When I am in Seattle trying to fumble with the debit card parking meters scammers have tried to come up to me and offer to help. As if I cannot figure out how to pay for parking and to hand my debit card to a street urchin. I say the words, "Bad Dog" and my dogs ears go back and he starts roaring and lunging at the guy. They get the message pretty quick.

The thing is, you can never leave home without them. My dog is always with me and we have bonded like no other. I think he only half sleeps, like a soldier, ready for duty at any time.

But all this said, if I were to let your child play with my dog his tail would wag as hard and as fast as he could do it. He seems to know when it is time to act up and when it isn't. And in 6 years he has never really bit anyone outside of just playing.

Here are some of the puppy as he has grown. He has gotten more and darker spots as he matures.

See this photo has no dark spots at all on his face at 4 weeks.

You forgot a pair of binoculars (for birdwatching), the neighbors' dogs, a bottle of water, a bird ID book, all in a fanny pack for quick access.

You UKrs giggling at me, I know what you're giggling about. I think it's funny that you call it a fanny. Ha! Although... now that I think about it, if I were able to call it a pussy pack in public, that would be pretty fuckin' funny.

When I take my girl out I also always carry a knife and pepper spray. Since I've learned of her awesomely ineffective protection skills, I now know I MUST take protecting myself from bears and mountain lions much more seriously. Plus, she runs so much faster than I do so I can't even use her for bait.

LEX-UK

ahhh yes the bears and m.lions its a dangerous game trekking woods lol well for you we have to watch out for the odd adder. tics and spider webs lol.

my auntie sports a fanny bag lmao.. you can spot american tourists a mile out from their fanny bags they love em! especially the southeners.. great folk!

S

SeaMaiden

You can spot tourists anywhere because of their fanny packs. LMAO! It's universal!

No more picking up venomous snakes for me, not since the rattlesnake bite. Anti-venom is a 1x/life kind of deal.

Hey All,I have 2 little ankle biters.1 weighs 13 pounds the other weighs 19.They are a father son team.1 doesnt go far from the other.Watch dogs........ well they do bark and they will bite, but their size precludes them from being to dangerous for anybody.I will stay with alternative methods for defense.I love them dearly like my own children and wouldnt want to part with them.
The boys love to ride in a car and get treats for doing nothing.Oh wait did I tell you I try to spoil my boys, well them again who doesnt,if they love their animals.
Peanut the little one and the oldest,is probably the best trained of the 2.Mack the son, well he didnt get the training his dad did,but he loves his sweaters when its cold outside. They are different dogs with different needs and wants.
They both will do well on a leash and will respond to a few commands but attack is not one of them unless you have a treat in your hands.

Nice to see the animal lovers here.

We've got a Rescued Shar-Pei / Bull Terrier mix. She looks VERY bully besides all the wrinkles and jowls and acts the part too. Such a smart breed.

Sadly her "sister" pure bred Shar-Pei passed just over a year ago. She'd have ripped your damn arm off if you messed with her mom (the missus)

On another note though, if you can: Don't Shop.... ADOPT!!!

You can find a rescue organization, even for pure breeds ESPECIALLY Bullys and APBTs which are widely available as puppies. And you could be saving a life :joint:
