Aldous, the newer Kalimist(since 2000) has more Indica(Afgan) but if that is from SS the leaves will thin up alot in flower and it will stretch in flower. You will know when the stretch happens and the leaves go pinate. The bud smell will be a givaway too.
It would be hard to say if it is pure Indica at this stage, My nl5Haze looked alot like that as a mom but the clones would stretch and it was sativa dom in flower only. :jawdrop:
Peace

Hello all,

Thx for the feedback. I guess i will have to let time tell. I will keep you posted. I can maybe be a misplaced AK 47.

KALISTROYER: Great report, i appreciate it.

All the seed in my bank have been traded over a period of 6 years. What i know about them is that the people that i traded with are very well know amd serious growers. That´s why i think it was my mistake.

Best regards,

Aldous

aldous i'm afraid that's no way a kali mist. i grew kali for a couple of years and it didn't look anything like that fat-leaved baba you've got there. mine were from serious seeds seeds. all 15 plants were very lanky, very few, very sativa, leaves. definitely without a shadow of a doubt the plant is not a kali. wish i had pics to show you.

Hi all
I am growing Kali orange(They are closely linked?)
And it has very thin leaves(not the fat ones i was used to with afghani(btw not done many grows))
I am still only veggin(About 4 weeks old(few weeks from sexing)

Anyway
Does this mean i will have a tall lanky plant on my hands soon?
I dont really have height for tall plants(only got 4 foot of hieght)

Also
So i get this right
Satvia are the taller/lankier plants
And Indica is a fat leaved squatty plant?

I Have read the two types have very diff high's

As i say i dont have much height for growing(have to lst heavily)but what am i missing out on by sticking with short/squatty indica plants?

Also(just thinking)
How do Satvia's(Assuming there the lanky ones)Take to LST?

Ahh yes Jay roach it is Cali O

Mmm so Kali Orange
And Cali Orange
are diff themselves?

yeah this is a common error. cali as in california, kali as in the hindu goddess of destruction, tenth aspect of shiva (who smokes herb). i haven't heard of kali orange but cali orange is popular strain.

rastas often call the herb calli, calli-weed etc. this is a confusing bastardisation of kali. when the indians came to jamaica they called the herb ganja (after the river ganges, where shiva was born) and also calli (after kali, the most 'potent' aspect of lord shiva).

i dunno the etymology of california, but doubt it has anything to do with a crazed ten-armed black goddess who dances on the dwarf of mankind's misunderstanding. have a look at the hindu myths and legends. man those guys were on some serious erb.

kali mist is a lovely smoke. subtle and potent at the same time, beautiful taste. can't speak from personal exp about cali-o but it has a good rep.

my pleasure mate. i love all that spiritual mythology stuff.

and just re your other post, yes the sativas are the tall, lanky, thin-leaved, long-flowering plants which stimulate the mind/imagination and the indicas are the shorter, fat-leaved, quick-flowering plants which put you on yer arse but generally don't do too much for the head. your plants look bloody lovely mate.

Ahh cheers for kind words on my grow*GRins*

Mmm So can u train the Sativa's to grow short like u can indica's

What sort of plants are Mainly Sativa?(Name wise)I will look into growing some just to see the diff in high*grins*

Also(And open to anyone )Is there really a diff between the two?(Hit wise)

*edit*
Just been reading up on Sativa and indica strains...
I never realised so many of the strains i have heard of are indeed Sativa's
For some reason i assumed that 95% of all the common strains were indica'(with only 5% being Sativa)
No idea why i have been thinking this.....

Like if i am right
Haze
Jock horror(Tho no idea if this is the orininal)
Durban poison
Are indeed Sativa's right?

And
Afghani
Hindu kush(guessing all the Kush's?)
White rhino
AK 47/8(not sure on this(but my AK 48 leaves look fat))

Are then indica's?

And then some are just a mix....Including Cali orange that i am growing?(Says where i bought it its a mix(And can deff see it does have thinner leaves))
It also mention it has a moderate grow difficulty

Typically what sort of problem's would be likely with Moderate to hard to grow strains?

If i am right i got it now
And being able to grow a Sativa In a smaller area could be done,But by the nature of how the plants grow(even with training)It would not be a very econominal way to grow(I would imagine there to be more spaceing between nodes with sativa's?)

And i guess same goes for the Half and half strains,But least would be able to manage them better in a small area

Lol sorry for righting all my thoughts down,Seems i can get nothing to sink in unless i go thru it clearly*smiels*

i feel that i can add something useful to this conversation, being as how i'm currently puffing on a sample of the 'new school' indicized Kali Mist.

the pot i'm smoking right now definately has a good bit of indica in it. it's lacking a bit of the old school taste that the pre '99 stuff had. it tastes more like white widow or something. sweet, but soft... not much sativa taste to be recognized... the high is much more balanced than the o' kali...

so in conclusion, i think there are DEFINATELY phenos of modern Kali Mist that look like what you have going there Aldous...

beyond saying that it COULD be, there's only one way to be sure... flower that biatch... only then will she show her true nature...

peace

Hello Buddies,

Very nice thread. The alleged Kali Mists are growing and have sexed now. I have one male and one female. The things is, i could be wrong about this particular plants. I planted them right next to some AK 47´s. So they are either Kali Mists or AK-47´s. What do you think?

Best regards,

Aldous
