Does this look like a good fan?

Theres really no way anyone could guess at the CFM on that. I would contact the owner and find out what the CFM rating on it is.

It must not be a very popular fan, since if you google FASCO 70731140 you come up with just that auction. No CFM ratings

It's 220v...I'd say spend your money elsewhere. BTW, it's probably around 100-150cfm - kinda looks like something out of a clothes dryer or other appliance.

Unless you're on an extreme budget, I'd suggest buying your supplies new.

Lights and ballasts all have a 'life span', they only work for so many hours

I am sure fans are the same way, normal wear and tear breaks em down...

bghydro.com is where i go and they have some good prices, they have a 265 cfm for $80 and a 465 cfm for $100

I just got a 6" Vortex from Maryland Hydroponics. Most excellent service from that place. I also got it with the 'dimmer' they sell along with it. I would suggest getting the dimmer elsewhere since the one they sell .. I dont know, it just looks somewhat cheap.

But yeah, I would definately suggest getting your fan new, since if that part of your system fails without you being there, that could cause lamp breakage or much, much worse.
