Does the Homebox suffer the same problem as the Hydrohut?

I am just wondering if anyone on here is using a homebox?
if so is it killing your plants like the hydrohut does, or are the homeboxes ok?

I have a sun hut xxl, which is pretty similar (someone told me the same maker, but I'm not sure on that part). I haven't had any problems yet, but I'm only a few weeks in veg at the moment(my present with my tax refund). I haven't heard of any issues with the homebox as it uses a different material than the hydrohut.

How far into flower are those?

Those homebox kits look awesome. What a great idea. So pvc kills MJ plants? Is this the problem with the hydrohut? Where did you folks get your homebox's from? I've seen 'em at Worm's Way and wondered if anyone else had them cheaper. Not that their price is bad, but I can buy alot of 2 x 4's and drywall for $200+. Harder to break down a stick built structure I know but still.

Hold Your Fire, get a pen & paper, make a visit to the store, and list and price out all the parts. 2x4's, screws, drywall, maybe angle joints, maybe black & white poly, maybe a zipper tarp entrance type thing, and maybe $5 - $10 gas. Now compare that cost to something that's professionally built, and can be easily re-sold (try selling your 2x4's and used drywall after you move up).

No, pvc does not kill mj plants. Does anyone have any info on what exactly the interior of the HydroHuts is? I've been told that it ISN'T PVC, and I am inclined to believe this as I have two PVC tents and the definitely DO NOT kill my plants.

I think it was the way the PVC was cured. HH's manufacturers changed something about how they made the PVC. I'm just glad mine is OK.

A manufactured tent is just so much easier to deal with in an apartment situation like I'm in. My first grow, I partitioned the bedroom with 2x4's and panda plastic. It worked but I didn't like the idea of it in an apartment.

So it's not always about saving money ..

it isnt the pvc itself so technically you can say its not ovc causing it but its an additive in the PVC to make it soft and flexible enough to be extruded into a paper thin sheet which remains strong and flexible enough to be used in the manner required for a growtent.
im making my new veg tent next week... getting one of these
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8753359/Trail/searchtext>COVERED+TIDY+RAIL.htm and ill be getting my friend to add a couple of flaps and socks...then its going to have velcro all around the edges inside and some strips running from top to bottom here and there-holding up the diamond mylar/white ply blackout sheeting...there will be a flap on the inside over the centre zip covering that to prevent light leakage...Oh yeah shes going to whip up a bottom section to velcro on too then ill use pond plastic to make a waterproof bottom on both levels....Ill take pics as I go along and post it up once its done....
there are some tents on uk ebay this same size as the one im maiing, but im uncertain if they are pvc or not-i contacted them and its the "100% Polyamide" business but like the others thats the nylon outer layer so i didnt want to drop the money on it and it turn out to be a plant killer-especially when i can do my own for 1/2 price....

The price you pay for a hydro hut or a homebox you could of built one for a hell of alot cheaper pardon my french but i built my box for under 80 dollars.

I just dont see why anyone would spend anymore then that. then you dont have to worry about your plants turning yellow.

I built this and i dont have any problems with any of that.

:canabis:

as you can see by what these look like i would for sure go with my own build. :jump:

So hopefully everything works out for you. :headbange
