Does machine trimmings make decent kief?

Hi! I recently purchased a trimming machine and know it mulches the trimmings pretty bad... curious if anyone has used a tumbler to make kief out of their machine trimmings?

I purchased a freezer tumbler so I can make kief from my trimmings to press into rosin but I am unsure if the mulched product will tumble well.

I can get a leaf separator attachment for my machine to protect the leaf, but it costs 2200usd, which I will get if necessary. If you've tried tumbling trimming from your machine please let me know how well it turns out!

Here in the Bush, we're backward and still trim manually. But I would say that if you press the trimmings from your new machine into blocks ... and allow them to cure ... the resulting product will knock your socks off.

Why would there be a difference if a machine did the trimming except for probably more resin in the trim because the machine is non-selective (compared to nimble fingers)?

Just a thought, but maybe you need less money ...

Depends on how you trim it. Power trimmers that use vegetable oil to keep the blades from gumming up, add that variable to the process.

The trimmer I have just uses a few drops of oil between the two scissor style blades, and just plain distilled water sprayed into the tumbler to help keep it cleaner.

I don't need to worry about it though because I made the leap and ordered the trim saver cyclone attachment. It has the added bonus of keeping the blower fan clean as well so it doesn't need to be pressure washed.

I suspect the mulched trimmings still would have produced usable kief, but this will be better.
