I have my lil 24 clones all ready and rooted now...im about to put them all in my closet in the next few days...i wanna do a SOG with the 24 hopefully keepin em about 15-20 inches total...I have sum 1 gal pots i got from work,, but they are like frosted plastic and would let light get to the roots....will this have enough negative affect for me to not use them, or would my results be about the same as normal??

I've been using clear sterlite tubs my whole grow and I've yet to see any problems from it. I like being able to see how extensive the roots are, it's a good indication of when to transplant.

I'm using clear 1 gallon containers under a 1k and I see clear signs of algea but plants are some of the healhiest I've grown.

I use chlorinate tap water left out for a night or two which I think helps control the algae. I think the lesser the intensity of the light the less chance algae will cause a problem. Also if you grow cycle is short (you don't veg forever) it will most likely not be an issue.

If your concerned just wrap the containers in aluminium foil or use aluminium sided tape.

Thats just another overblown situation that is based in fact but in reality makes little or no difference.I'm sure many of us have rooted clones in a clear glass. Its probably not good to shine a halogen spotlight at the roots for any length of time lol

i have opague small trash cans which i am going to use as 5 gallon pots and am too lazy to paint them anyway. I figure by the time the roots collect on the sides it will be time to harvest anyway.

i use clear jugs from hawian punch, high-C anything free i have used ..... i have only seen any kind of alge or moss once when i didnt clean them with a bleach solution or something first ....as long as the light are not directlly on the side of the container,, should be fine....the leaves also shade them from this after some time ...i guess if they got extreme ly close up light, it might burn the roots same as it does leaves but who does that..
