Does having a bucket of water w/airstone affect pH?

What's up, I have a bottle of gh ph drops, basically you just fill the test vial halfway with water then add 4-5 drops, then match your color. Well I have a rubbermaid tub with about 5 gallons of water in it, i just tested the pH and the color was teal, on the bottle that color says ph of 8.5 and higher, weird, so I checked my tapwater and it was a lime green for ph of 7, so does bubbling affect the water? maybe the airpump isn't pumping fresh air into the bucket...etc? Anyone ? Anywho have a good one!!

edit: Oh and it's been in the bucket for about 36hrs now.

get a ph pen.

those drops are a pain in the ass.

all of your problems will be gone once you get 1.

Yeah, i think i'm gonna order one 2nite, unless the local hydro has some for 20$, they sell a dirt one that i know of for like 40$ that measures ph and temp or moisture level, it's analog, but I wonder if it works with putting it in water, or only put in soil.

don't buy the dirt meter... it is garbage...

and i doubt the hydro shop has $20 meters... they buy them for $20 and sell them for $75..

check out ebay!

i havent found bubbling water raises the ph but i have found it takes less ph adjuster to lower the ph on bubbled water then water straight from the tap.
