Did some research last night about venting a cooltube and the cabinet separately. Read over the millspride thread, the 400hps thread, and quite a few others. Most people are using one giant fan to pull through a carbon filter > Light > Inline > exhaust. This creates a massive wind tunnel and if you have dry air it causes taco leafs.
So I am trying to avoid the wind tunnel and came up with the idea of venting the cool-tube separately with a dedicated fan and the grow area would have an additional dedicated fan.
So here is my idea:
I want to get two 4" s&p blowers, the smallest ones should be fine I would think.
The first would just vent the cooltube from one side of the cabinet straight through to the other side and/or maybe some ducting twisted around for light leaks but it wouldnt be pulling through a carbon filter.
The second would be pulling through a carbon filter and would vent the "grow area" of the cab. Since its a smaller fan pulling through a carbon filter it should reduce the wind tunnel effect and since the cooltube is being cooled by a totally different fan my temps should stay within ambient give or take a degree or two.
Does this make sense? Anyone have a link to a cab like this or personal experience?
*Other thoughts*
I was thinking you really don't need a powerful fan for venting the cooltube if its straight through however I didnt want to use axial fans due to the heat but the 4" blower seems a bit over kill to vent just a cooltube, anyone have any other fan ideas for the cooltube?
Thanks for any help. Tried to search best I could to find examples but not many people do this with their cabs.
