Does anyone know anything about tinctures

It is a way to make a tincture chock full of chlorophyll.

I suggest that you check out the QWET process for less untargeted elements.

She didn't decarboxylate, so the tincture isn't orally active.
Sorry to say but that statement is incorrect. Not as potent perhaps, but it is orally active!

I use oil made with a #2 tumble hash powder, #1 is 3 min #2 is 15-25 min. I put the ever clear 190 proof in the freezer along with hash powder for 24 hrs I then mix the powder, and alcohol and shake it up and leave it overnight. I then strain off the alc through coffee filters, put the strained alc in a clear container in the sun to help bleach out the chlorophyll. I then cook off the alc at 180*. Once the alc is cooked off I raise the temp to decarboxylate the oil, I let it cool and mix 2.5 gm oil into 14 gm mct oil. You can gauge the dose with the amount drops you put under the tongue. This is a very simple way to make tincture with household equipment.

My approach is to have total contact time between cannabis and solvent at 30
seconds or less. Colder is better.

Gotta keep the ethanol and material below 0 deg F for cleanest results IMO, if you can go lower even better. A good way to do this is a flip top chest freezer, place all equipment and materials in there for a good day before your run.

Do your filtration right inside the freezer. Keeping everything as cold as you can get it during the entire process is key, if you do this you are basically inline winterizing the solution. Go straight to evap without losing time during a winterizing chill. Evap with a heating pad and fan blowing over it for a few hours and you're done.

she added decarboxylated cannabis -- so is this a good method with decarboxylated cannabis ?

all I have is flower from the store ------- no freezer or hash or anything - just looking for something really simple that works

1- I have to find a more discreet way to take my medicine
2 - I am trying to save my lungs

Technically incorrect in the absolute sense, in that there are receptors other places in the body besides the brain. THC-A is a good anti-inflammatory, among other things.

From a noticeable effects standpoint, how does THC-a make it by the blood brain barrier to the CB-1 receptors in a carboxylic acid form?

IMHO she's a hack. There is a lot better videos on the subject and there are tons of articles avail from google.

I was merely responding to Gray Wolf who stated it is useless unless decarboxilated which is false. Many do not decarboxilate their cannabis when making tinctures. Therefore my comment. Perhaps not as potent but, yes it works sub-lingually. My preference (as a patient) is too taste the raw cannabis over the "slightly" increased potency that decarboxilating offers, but I don't like the taste of decarboxilated cannabis.

Dry ice is clean and discreet. Get a small cooler use dry ice in it and you have a freezer. It should actually drop temps lower than most freezers.

Perhaps you should re-read my post. I said if she wanted it orally active, she should decarboxylate it.

I didn't say it was useless.

Please substitute the following for my overly casual orally active statement.

All of the constituents have their medicinal effects, but if you want action at the CB-1 receptors in the brain, it has to get by the blood brain barrier, which it can't in carboxylic acid form.

The extract in the video would taste like shit. So much so, that you'd end up throwing it away. The first time I did it like that I dumped about 500ml down the drain.

I suggest you try Grey Wolf's QWET/QWISO (quick wash) suggestion.

I've been struggling to find a way to remove the nasty chlorophyll from my quick wash.

Props to Troutman for pointing me to this:
Chlorophyll can remove better with carbon and DE filtration
https://extractcrafter.com/2018/09/...on-scrubbing-diatomaceous-earth-de-filtering/
(btw, DE filtration has been in the wine industry for decades)

It would produce a nice clean extract for cooking, oil or tinctures without that shit flavor.
