hey i was looking for one of these on the web, and came across one on ebay...

was wondering if anyone here uses one, and if it is worth buying?

i am electrical illiterate and think this might be what i need?

This unit is designed to plug into an existing 30 Amp 220 volt outlet. It works like a sub panel with a timer controlling the outlets. I would question their claim of running 4 1000 watt lights and up to 10 amps of 110 accessories at the same time, off an original 30 amp outlet.
Another description is shown here (I'm not sure it is the same unit, but it looks like it.)
I don't think anyone can tell you if you need it without more information. Are you trying to set up a temporary room where there is a 220 volt outlet?

i was thinking about running a 30 amp RV extension cable from my basement 220 line to my upstairs growroom that i am constructing..

would that work?

that 20 amp breaker for the lights seems small, but if you used 4 600's that would be fine, 4 1000's sounds questionable

I did basically the same thing except I ran a 50 amp breaker. Now I can run 8 1ks and my fans yay lol. More power capacity = more lights = more for u to smoke
