Does anyone ever grow their hydro plants in ice chests/coolers?

It seems like tons of guys have issues with root rot from high water temps. It also seems like power consumption is sometimes an issue after you factor in lights, a/c and pumps, not to mention an added chiller. Is it feasible to use ice chests in a dwc setup instead of buckets? I figure that this should keep the water temps from being effected so drastically from the room temps. What about using a cooler for the res? Has anyone seen this, done this or have pics of this?

I do, let me dig up some photos

Just a grow I did awhile back

It's just a 30 gallon cooler, water temps stay pretty stable throughout the grow because of its insulation (From 67F -78F depending on light hours and the time of the year). This particular one has 4 plants growing in it, just a nice size hydro bubbler, lol. I made quite a few of them, and finally settled on the white 30 gallon ones.
