Does Advanced Nutrients' supplements work?

Hi there,

I was wondering wether the supplements from AN are generally sales-gimmicks or actual beneficial products?

Please share your knowledge with me. Links to actual side-by-side tests would be awesome if such exist.

Thank you very much in advance.

I've tried voodoo juice and it works great as a root tonic, the roots just explode with new growth. works great for soil and hydro. That's the only AN product I've tried.

Sounds awesome. I'll have to try it, even though it is a little expensive. But since it is bacteria I should be able to reproduce it, so a bottle would last infinitely .

Their ph down is very strong.
Ok, thanks :). However I can definitely recommend just using a regular acid for lowering pH instead of a pH-down product which is basically just acid in fancy bottles :)

ive used several, and have had mixed results, some are hit or miss.

ive tried
Carboload
Big Bud
Pirahna

carboload, is what the name entails, a load of shit.....i would attribute lack of crystals to this product. stay away from it unless your growing tomatoes??? ha

big bud, well....seems to add that extra kick of K that its known for. it also has aminos, mag, S, and citric.

pirahna, my favorite product that AN makes, works verrrrry verrrry well. a 1/4 tsp sprinkled just under an x-plant clone is the best method of application for this product. they honestly start rooting within, the hour???? the root growth, and new foliage growth is tremendous when using this product.

hope this helps somewhat

peace!

If you have a cheap source for phosphoric acid in as high of a concentration as the Advanced Nutrients ph down, let me know.

Well I dont know the prices from this guy, but I saw this post on another forum posted very recently (august 09):

Hi, This is Erin. Our company is leading ad professional phosphoric acid producer. If you till need phosphoric acid, please cotact me through the following contact manner.
E-mail:[email protected]
MSN: [email protected]
Phone: 83-13778208809

If you use a lot of that stuff I am sure you could get it much cheaper with a guy like him :).

But yeah if your question was more like a rhetoric question, you are probably right that it is hard to get unless buying in bulk.

I don't know what concentration AN pH up is but this stuff Klean-Strip® Phosphoric Prep & Etch is 40% phosphoric acid and no other ingredients (water if ya wants to get all technical like) listed on the MSDS. It is like 12 bucks for a gallon at HD or Lowes.

Their supplements work. That said, they are way overpriced and there are way too many of them. The only one I might pick up is Big Bud for the price.

That is pretty good.
The Advanced stuff is food grade 85%, which is the minimum that I want, but it costs me $30/gal.

That is not enough of a price diff to offset having to use so much. No one in this town sells AN (we are antibullshit here) though and the Klean Strip seems more effective than GH's product to me.

Dongle ...I buy 85% Phosph acid from a local chemical company. We get it in 35 gal jugs and it is spit between a couple houses. I think we pay $185 for 35 gals. Might want to look in your yellow pages.

Where do you buy it?
$5 a gallon sounds good to me.

I stand by Big Bud as an additive that you will notice a difference using. It's pricey at around $40/litre but if you only get an extra ounce (but you will get more) out of it it's worth it.

how about there consatrations. i just bought a bunch of there products first time trying it and it burned a bunch of my plant's. I'm flushing for a couple of day's with ph'ed water and then will try again at half straingth. man also the ph fluctuates alot any tips to help stablize this problem.

I use AN iguana grow/bloom, fulvic, humic, seaweed, organic b, voodoo juice, sensizyme, carbo load, piranha, tarantula, wet betty, collosal bud blast, bud candy, big bud and juicy roots. It's awesome. I've got some pics at my profile page to check out.
It's very expensive but the quality and bigger yields make up for it.
I've experimented by not using certain products for a crop and really noticed the difference. The sensizyme especially. I'm sure there are other great enzyme products, but not like sensizyme. It's unbelievable how much AN has increased the quality, weight, strength and health of my plants since I started using it.

personally i feel they do alot of cross mixing of the same chemicals found in 2 or more of their products. They are expensive and work. But they are not better than General Hydroponics products which i feel are priced better and the best on the market
