Do you prune all the bottom branches?

This is my first grow.

I've just started flowering, I fimmed earlier in veg got 4 main branches going up, there are a decent number of lower branches, but they are definitely smaller and lower then the main ones. Do you guys usually trim these so the plant will put all its energy into the main colas or what? I could possible put some lights in the side.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

The clones are a good idea if you can use them. You should be able to tell the branches that are going to give anything. The very small low ones are worth nothing, lol. Throw them in some water as was suggested, and when this batch are finished you should have about 5 weeks veg on the others......

Ive got 3 Ice plants flowering now, day 17. I only cut the bottom most sucker offshoots and kept the rest. They have all been able to stretch up to the outer part of the plant to get light. If you are diligent about moving fan leaves out of the branches way, your all set.

I used side lighting (CFL's and Floro tubes) in my last grow of WW to get some side growth. It worked really well and was worth it. If your looking for just big colas then the side lighting isnt really worth it in the end. Good luck

trimming is excelent if you don't have enough light penatration.

I trim everything that i don't think would be worth the plants energy to create bud. i only keep dominant stalks. works great. BUT i leave as much leaves as possible.

Yes, I think it was BOG who once posted on OG to take off the bottom branches but leave the big fan leaves.

I am another for cloning the bottom branches...you jus might get a superb plant when it finishes and you have some nifty clones to make a mom outta now to keep it around
