Do you moisten?

Just wondering how many people moisten their spliffs before smoking?

I like to get my lips wet and run it through from inside my mouth to get a nice even coating on the paper...I find it smokes much smoother and doesn't burn down as fast.

when i do smoke joints (which is rarely) I do give a little coting of saliva to slow the burning

way back in the 70's where I first saw that technique to light up a joint.No one I smoke with still does that though.But when I cut the run of the ember(imagine just 1 side of your J burning) I usually moisten the paper to stop the run.Ciao baby

Runners are stopped by premixing the bud before you put it in. Most people in the UK lay out the cig and then put bud on it and then another layer of cig. All this does is mean it burns unevenly. If you premix the cig and green in a small bowl first and then put it in the joint you will never get a run. I've done this for about 10 years now and the only time i get runs is if i skin up in a hurry and make a mistake. I'm an anal git when it comes to making a good roll. A bad roll is a waste of weed.

As for moistening, no i dont.

Yeah, but here in the US, it is extremely rare to see someone mix tobacco into their joint.

I was always shown to stop runners with a touch of saliva too.

I dunno about the full coating though...

NiteTiger, It's not as bad as you might think man. Once it's been moistened it soaks through the paper a bit into your herbs so it's not like it's wet when you smoke it. It basically just slows the whole smoking process down and gives you a nicer burn.

We used to roll joints with tabacco in them, east side of canada does it for some reason while most of the west doesn't. Much the same as filters.
I know here in BC if you put tabacco in a doobie ppl look at you funny.
As for salivating all over my joint, we call it baptising..
Not a whole shitload of slobber on it, just enough to wet the paper a bit to make it burn more evenly, and not the whole joint, just the half that gets lit...
Also use a bit o spit to fix a run, cause lets face it runs suck...
