alright im getting impatient. these old seeds i got from my friend arent popping.

4 of them have showed me a taproot but barely.. just its back poking out..
anyways i got impatient and threw them in the dirt. see if the natural way would work.

like really whats the max ammount of time ur seeds have taken to germinate?
cuz seriously its been a week

ive had a few strains that took a week or more to sprout.
one of them being the freebie dp x sk#1 also northern lights (nirvana)
& a few others. its probally bad seed stock with low germ rates or really
old seeds.

You can plant them as soon as they show that tiny taproot coming out. My seeds usually germinate within 30-40 hours. Seeds can stay good for a long time if they are stored properly. I have heard 5-15 years in some cases.

If the paper towel is cold, then resoak it with warm water every few hours. Also, try putting the paper towel with the seeds in a dark but warm place.

I've had seeds for 2+ years sitting in very high temperatures, germed most of them not too long ago... they all popped

Fresh Cannabis seeds (or seeds of any species) are generally close to 100% viable. What affects viability rates are age and storage conditions.
Some seeds, such as those of the willow tree, are viable for only a few days after falling from the parent tree. Other seeds are viable for years. Date tree seeds are known to have germinated after 2000 years, and Lotus seeds are known to stay viable (theoretically) for up to 3000 years. Seeds sown after the period of optimum viability may produce weak plants or may not germinate.
Optimum viability for Cannabis seeds seems to be within the 4 year mark (same as for industrial hemp), but under optimal storage conditions the seeds can probably be kept alive for 10-20 years, although an increasing percentage of seeds will die off and only perhaps 1%-5% can theoretically stay alive that long.

I am having the same problem...after a day or so two showed taproots and the others just popped. After 3 days of nothing and slow development from those showing roots...I put them into rw cubes....we shall see if they are bad seeds soon enough..
