Do plants see uv-c light?

Well, what do you think? The sanitizing uv-c bulb in my ac makes the ducting glow and lets out a bit of indirect light. Should I be running these things on timers?

Thanks guys

I'm sure you are fine. If you want build a exit box around wherever the light leaks and put like a dryer vent on it or something

UVC is really nasty stuff. It resonates with DNA and works as a sterilizer by unraveling the strands. Not something to look at.

The good news is it has no penetration, it is nicknamed 'vacuum UV' because it does not go through ordinary atmosphere. If the ducting has a hole it should be covered. Any plastic, even clear plastic, will stop the harmful rays.

It is in the ducting and is the bulb is in no way visible. It's above my head and in ducting. The blue glow from it bounces around in the ducts. I obviously do not, and am not even able to, look at the bulb.

Is this s concern? Thank you for the reply, coco as well.

No problem. I'd just use tape or poly and tape where the ducting joints and make sure none of its leaking if you are worried but I wouldn't be.

Me personally I don't run anything like that in my room. My sativas are mold resistant and I'm really carful plus I grow in coco so no way bad mold starts in my substrate and moves up. Thank you trichoderma for eating the bad mold.

No problem though happy you found the reply helpful
