Do other countries have dumb anti-drug ads

I just saw another stupid anti-drug ad.

a girl about 14 is in her kitchen when her dog starts talking to her.

yes you heard me, her "dog!"

"Julie, I want you back, I hate the way that you have changed since you started smoking weed."

this ad went after Weed,not coke, not meth,or smack.

it is insulting to the intelligence of today's youth.

at least in the 80's we had frying pans and eggs!

At least the 80's ads had some sense to them, I mean its easy to understand how you could fry your brain form doing a substance to much. But I realy don't see where the fuck they're are going with these commercials. But then again its pretty much the only drug you could have ads like these because its pretty much common knowledge that if you abuse hard substances you'll be hurting yourself. But with pot you have such a wide varity of opinions about it. One side will say its almost harmless then you have another saying it will ruin your life and make you stupid. And for all the 8-9 year olds that don't know anything about weed, a talking dog putting a negative attitude towards people who smoke might keep him/her away form it for maybe another year or two.

Wouldn't have to have these stupid commercials if the facts about weed weren't so fucked. But hey in these days n times its ok to lie to the kids if you don't want them doing something and then bitch when they don't trust you on the serious problems. GOOD OL' USA

then there is the cartoon, where a girl is pissed because her boyfriend lights up a joint. Suddenly a flying saucer lands right besides them, the girl jumps in the space craft and leaves with the alien. Really?!
(don't smoke weed or your girlfriend will leave you for an alien, not illegal alien, but the E.T. phone home type.)
in another cartoon, a kid lights a joint, his dog shakes his head, then says "I'm so disappointed in you."

I really hope that the youth of today are not believing this. I think they are quite entertaining.

I agree with TriCeasar. If the ad is anti stupidity, like don't drive drunk,stoned,talking on your cell, then it is very good lesson.
The don't smoke pot because your dog won't like you or your chick will fly off with an alien are pointless and insulting.
Chopper makes a strong point about kids and the dumb things they can do and think, but I don't see that as anything new. Back in the 60's when I was a lad kids were just as dumb and did phenomenally stupid things like jump from roof top to roof top. A nine year old friend plummeted to his death that way.
The big problem is that a lot of now day parents think their kids are smarter than they really are and neglect to teach them about danger without being alarmist.

also, one thing to note too is that smoking in the car became big because it was a safe way to smoke without getting caught outside on foot or stinking up a room in your house, or smoking in your yard but stinking your neighbors' houses. so prohibition actually forces these dangers upon the general population, yet another one more stupid move on the law-makers side, nothing new...

I love watching the stupid-ass cartoon ones when I'm baked. I cant help but bust out laughing. Personally, I remember the old ones like where the little girl is riding her bike in the fuckin' drive-thru. or the dudes are smoking in the bathroom stall at the concert. Stupidity at its finest.
