Do no pest strips work on thrips?

I've never tested no pest strips with thrips, though they do well against most flying pests in the room. From all I've read, it sure couldnt hurt to give them a try.

Avid will kill just about any pest, but it's a very expensive, and some say very dangerous pesticide. Not for use in flowering anyway.

BLUE sticky traps are very attractive to thrips, much more than the standard yellow sticky traps which work well for catching adult fungus gnats. But, sticky traps are NOT an effective control for either of these pests. They are very handy however, as a tool for the grower to get an early indication of an infestation before it gets out of control.

Try spinosad, the active ingredient in Monterey Garden spray if you are still at point where you can spray. There is alot of info about it out there (thanks Kokua) but the long and short is that its organic and is bad ass. Got the fungus gnats too. Can be used as a drench and spray. Not an expert by any means but it worked for me.

Yeah I read that about monterey, I am in early flower, so I guess I will read about monterey some more and see if I can use it. I have the no pest strips so mabey I will use them for a few days to see if they work.

Avid- I would NEVER use Avid past the first week of flower. It's a systemic. You need to give it PLENTY of time to work its way out of the plant-break down- before harvest and eventual consumption.
Does it work? Sure.
But I'd start with the more basic remedies first, such as a pair of pyrethrin bombs set off 3 days apart, a physical barrier between the bottom of the plant foliage and the top of the medium (styrofoam picnic plate with a slit cut in it, slide over the stem) to keep larvae from dropping to the soil surface to pupate, prophylactic neem appliaction, no-pest strips, sticky traps, pyrethrin spray, etc... lol! Any combination of these control methods should do you well.
I consider Avid to be a rather last-ditch measure.

If you do decide to go with Avid, you can apply it the first week of flower for protection for the following month or so- a little less than that, but get you through a significant portion of flower time. I've done it and been satisfied with the results.

Use the Spinosad, say goodbye to thrips. Good to 1 day before harvest. Organic and safe.

It is 2 derived proteins from a soil bacteria, only toxic to certain insects, grubs etc.

I used it once, killed every last thrip dead dead dead.

Don't **** around with poisons like avid. There is a safe organic solution for every pest.
