Hi y’all I’ve been growing my plants for a couple of months and 3 days ago when I flipped the lights for flowering I’ve noticed a little bit of a powder like white substance on the older leaves not the tops and a friend of mine that have much greater experience and knowledge in growing examined it and he think it might be a pm what do you think guys and what should I do?
Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Yes, you need more space for your plants to open the canopy up and allow more air circulation thru the leaves. Keep the humidity below 50% and don't spray anything on the leaves. Don't keep your soil wet let the top dry well before watering.

High humidity and low airflow are the primary causes of white mold. Planting your vegetation without adequate spacing where it cannot get proper air circulation, or overwatering your garden or potting soil can create prime conditions for white mold to grow. Google

If water moisture stays on the leaves too long the leaves become tender and mold spores can easily attach to the tissue. If you keep the air dried out the leaf tissue becomes tough and mold can penetrate the tissue.

For me it's hard to tell, even under magnification. Could be thrips damage as well. Does the white stuff stick to the fingers when you try to wipe it off? You probably need a microscope.

Hi my friend it doesn’t stick to my fingers but I can scratch it with a bit force with my fingernails

Actually I have quite good air flow I have 2 plants 1 in 12 liter and one in 15 liter pot I have 6 inch exhaust fan and also a clip fan it’s 80x80x200 cm I think it’s enough for small plants

Ok friend are you running the fans at night? Are you keeping the soil too wet?

Don't need a microscope to identify powdery mildew. I can tell just by the bad pics that is what he has. Don't scare the poor guy! He's already going to have a battle with it. That shit can be hard to get rid of. Thrips on the other hand can be an all out nightmare.

Getting rid of powdery mildew isn't hard. A simple neem oil spray will work but keeping it away is a little trickier. It always seems to reappear.

I’ll try it out and when should I spray with when light is on or off or it doesn’t matter?

When lights on so u can see the patches. I basically soak the areas where I see it. I don't soak my whole crop. Works almost immediate.

If you don't find the source or cause and eliminate it, it will get worse later down the line. Good luck and thanks for posting.

The neem oil coating keeps the powdery mildew from forming.

it indeed does :)

Keep on top of it

this is the important part keep on top of it and make it so it does not grow

I have had it and it sucks ass :( I used a sulfur burner which worked well

forgot the high humidity and sulfur gas make sulfuric Acid oops
