Do Men Assume Women Can't Grow?

I wouldn't go that far. I'd put her in the upper echelon of growers but to go as far as saying ANYONE? I just have something against generalized blanket statements.

Plus, that dude may have been a bit piggy.. but he isnt entirely wrong either. His example of the two incompetant growers was an example of blanket statement I dont like... somehow two ignorant (and i emphasize ignorant vs. stupid because they were learning and didnt know better) girls somehow generalized as a whole in a population, doesn't make sense.

I dont think it has anything to do with the nurturing values of women at all. Rather I think this has everything to do with the passion someone has for this. A good commercial grower is just that... a good commercial grower.. but breeders and self preserving growers have a bit more passion towards their grows and it shows in their final product. THIS is ultimately what i think makes better growers. It's not about whether someone is a woman or man.. but rather how much passion they have towards the topic.

I've read books in college and only grasped portions of the information because it was not what I really was interested in. Now, I have read books, websites, went to other growers places, grown over 20 strains in my lifetime, grown in soil, soilless mixes, nft, ebb n flo, bubblers, aeroponic, SOG setups, scrog setups all because of the passion I have for the topic... it is immensely therapeutic to me and also fun. Am I a great grower?... id say im a pretty damn good SMALL SCALE grower.. but by no means a great.

I've met men who are boneheads who stare at their plants and pick at them early for smoke and end up with horrible results ... bad growers!!! .. but then again ive seen some who are so great with their plants ... the connection is beyond me... thats my point... its not about the sex but the passion when it comes to this... we arent talking about whether men or women are faster sprinters... you take the fastest man vs. the fastest woman... man usually wins... at my company if i were to say who the hardest working exec is.. no question... a lady exec. vp here. She's gonna run the co. im sure one day.. because she knows her shit and follows though... but like most things in life.. it has to do with the passion and drive you have for something.

Physically speaking, I think men are evolved towards a stronger and faster end than the average women.

The reality of life is that people are all generally gifted in one thing or another.. but it's those who follow through on their gifts with passion that tend to stick out. Does this world give more advantages to guys.. sure! Can a woman outdo a man... Sure! Can a woman with no self esteem and no drive beat a man who does have these things.. NOPE... and the same is true the other way around.

Im impressed when a woman does anything (accomplishment-wise) REALLY WELL in life, when considering the cultural pressures, life pressures and obstacles put in front of her. You definately have to put your hands out and clap. But please stop with the general comments... its sexist in both directions.. not looking for boohoos.. but rather a woman's rights area should be put to give woman esteem and equal treatment.. not better or worse.

Forgot to answer the question though.

No, I dont assume you can't grow as women. A girl I know is an o.k. grower. Problem is to me, she is a bit more of a hippyish person and doesnt really ever push her plants so they are always kinda small... but she never has over or under nute problems or over/under watering probs. ... she doesnt really try SOG or Scrog .. simply 400 watts and 4 containers. Dirt and seed.

Then again I've seen some growers on OG website ... OMG.. they are amazing.. they build techniques... they patience in grows shows, ... i dont know.. i see men just as good too.. so i just think its a matter of passion over sex.

my personal opinion on weather i assume girls can grow....

i generally assume noone can grow, unless they have some knowledge or have showed somthing they do.

there are far too many people around that assume they can grow, and know nothing about it. But they will shove all the info they "THINK" they know right down your throat. Because they "KNOW" that they are the best Grower around lol.

I also love how theres a actual distinction between what people consider homegrown, and Real weed.

so just sit back listen to what they think they are rambling about and giggle.

have met a couple female growers, would like to see more of them around that enjoy it and are devoted to it

Ladies growing herb? Thats nothing new. In Africa who cultivates? The women. A lot of cultures the women grow, everything, including weed. Now find me a dog that can produce 1/4 lb. of herb every 2 months under a 400W hps and Ill be amazed. Women growers have been around as long as the plant we grow. Women make the best hash IMO.

Other than that I think each of us can do anything we want when we set out minds to it. I have met girls that will get down a dirty and work on cars and do all sorts of guy stuff and then there are girls that if they break a nail they cry. I think most female growers are somewhere in between. Beautiful creatures that are fragile, but toughen up when they need to and do what they have to do. I respect women growers because of the fact that they are doing something with such high risk, and still being ladies....well most of them. :smile: Other than that I have never told a woman she cant do something because she is a woman....exept maybe use the bathroom standing up.

under one of those that's been burning about 12 hours straight, with a shaved head like Gypsy's, can burn quite severely. Took the flesh right off....ouch!!!!!

I have done the prsice same thing on my 1000watter...didnt burn into my flesh however, but.....without taking the piss, and meaning it in the nicest way possible..... I do have a kind of protection on my head that gypsy does not :wink: sorry, not taking the piss Gyps :smile: . I did it twice, lol, i really banged it once I was terrified, it was like slow motion when I moved my head away lol, thinking it was gonna decsned into blackness any moment, hehe,...luckily, even after being given a Castleford Kiss(Westyorkshire slang for a headbutt) twice...its stioll going strong.....

I'm trying to grow right now. A few years ago, I tried to make a grow cabinet, but it turned out to be an Easy Bake Oven instead. I was so frustrated I gave up on finishing it.

Then a few months ago I started again on trying to fix it, and get a grow going. I'm not terribly confident that I can do it, but I don't think of it so much as a female issue but rather a *me* issue.

hey CottonmouthKid, welcome to ICMag. Just skimmed over your OG thread...wow what a long strange trip huh?

Anyway, ya might wanna start a thread here too, there are some OUTSTANDING mentors here, and I know they could help ya get a successful harvest in. Also, we're a little bit smaller site, so ya won't get lost in the crowd here . The hydro forum here is top notch ( I do soil myself ).

How are those plants doing? still sickly? Hope not. Don't think of it as a "me" issue, think of it as an "I can do this" issue. Believe me if I can grow pot, so can you!!

i think women have that wonderous vibration that make plants blossom to the fullest, and grow some of the finest herb available. However, it takes alot of balls, or shall I say guts, to face the potential persecution from the government that cultivating our sacred plant brings about, and most women, imho, are not willing to take the risk. With that being said, i believe if cannabis was legalized tommorrow, we more than likely would all be smoking prime sensimillia grown organically outdoors by women.

Damn, when the girls over here represent they do it seriously! Major kudos to all the girls! I'm taking a break from gardening right now, should be getting back to it soon, but am sort of leery about posting pics in this particular period.
