Do I really need a carbon scrubber?

I bought the damn thing, it just cuts down on way too much airflow...
My regular, no carbon scrubber temps are 78 F degrees.
With the scrubber attached, they jump up to 83 F.

My cab is 28 in wide x 26 in tall x 14 in depth (5.8 cubic feet) and I'm using a 172 CFM fan. The air is exhausted under my house... the only opening under my house is about 10-20 feet away from where my exhaust is being blown under.

I can't smell anything coming from under the house at all. Should I really even worry about it?

It's not like the PG & E guy is going to go under there or anything, he'll have to get past all the stinging nettle that surrounds the opening of the house to get his head down there anyways...

I do have some small budsites, I can smell it in my room but I can't smell it from outside the house.
I've grown out this pheno of white rhino, it's not too smelly, which is why I kept it. I forgot to mention that I only have 2 small plants growing.

Would the can type ONA gel work? I think that'd be a better option for my small grow instead of buying a liter of the stuff...

I would get the 1L of it because the smaller ones wont last too long

Hey man, did you properly size your carbon scrubber with you fan? My bet is that you got one too small. If you can, get another of the exact same size and use a "Y" to feed both. Your air flow will increase and you be able to sleep easier. Otherwise, either get a bigger carbon filter or a better fan.

Consider the vaportek optimum 4000 instead of ONA. People are just raving about it: http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11927

Honestly, my grow room is so compact as it is right now, I couldn't even fit one of those vaportek's in there.

Do you think something like the "Vaportronic electronic wall cabinet" would suffice? I mean shit, my grow room is tiny!

Vaportek optimum 4000 is about the size of 2 cigarette cartons stacked on top of each other, so its kinda big.

But yea, the vapotronic would do just fine in a small setup. According to www.vaportek.com, they say that the vaportronic can handle up to 10000 feet^3, and the optimum 4000 can handle up to 20000 feet^3.

Vaportronic has 5 disk slots, so you can use up to 5 disks for maximum control, but for smaller setups (like a walk-in-closet) 2 or 3 would do just fine.

Well, thanks guys.
I bought an Ona block just to try out... hopefully it'll work. I'll put it on the wall right next to the exhaust :)

It was only 12 bucks with shipping, so if it dosen't work out, not much lost anyways.

Thanks again for all the replies!

Yea ONA is pretty good, not much different from vaportek, they both use 30+ different plant oils to neutralize odors. My buddy uses ona for his cfl closet grow; he says he cant smell a thing when he opens the door, except for the distinct smell of the ona block.

Hopefully it'll work for your setup. Goodluck!
