Do Collective Clones need pesticide?

Just picked up a clone and other than over watered they seem fine.

I'm going to remove all the dirt in the solo cup. I drained it and put vent holes in the sides, guy said it was a 20% perlite, 50% coco and 30% dirt. . . Looks more like 30% perlite, 10% coco, 60% dirt.

Should I use pesticide on it to kill anything that could contaminate my garden?

Heres a few pictures, what do you think?

Thanks!:thank you:

IME... clones from any other source need to be nuked for everything. Organicides are best, when used appropriately. We're talking for root aphids, mites, fungi and molds. Did I miss anything?

There's a dispensary where I live that has all the clones for sale on shelves where every customer has to walk past, constant stream of the unknown being brought in. Can't imagine the creepy crawlies and other nasties that travel in with these customers.

I'm not a stickler on tiny plants though, especially if they're going to be mums instead of production plants. I'll nuke those with whatever is most effective, pesticide or not. Just not a big fan of chems on clones/plants that are going to be thrown into flower. :D

Break out the microscope/jeweler's loop and check the undersides of the leaves for mite shit and eggs. The only time I've had mites is from dispensary clones. If using a pesticide, treat again after 10 days to kill the potential hatch. Even if you don't any problems, spray anyway. Better safe than sorry, why risk infesting your entire grow space?

Tossed that piece of shit clone, which needed peroxide to wake it up honestly, and maybe even as 1 ICMag poster put it, WetVac the rootball dry hahaha. It also had tiny larva on the stem base near the root riot so I'm glad i kept it far and away, but I'm upset at the collective , not nice to sell clones of that stature to anyone.

Thank you for all the knowledge and assistance, appreciated!

please, the biggest suppliers have the greatest chance of pests. everything gets checked and sent to jail for 2 weeks. no bail hold lol

Always treat plants form a public place like that or anytime you get a clone from another garden, you just dont want to bring any problems they might have had to your garden. I usually mix up some neem oil and water then dip the whole plant into it ha

Yea definitely spray some neem oil or whatever you use before adding to the garden. Between the grower, transit, being in a store front, and then coming home with you, clones generally pick up hitchhikers along the way.

Not a bad idea to quarantine for a week to avoid headaches.

Good luck.

Thanks Bobbles. My clone died and was infested for sure, its okay thought, I kept it away. Thanks for your insight and help. I'm actually starting seeds right now. Got any tips for seedlings?
