DJ Shorts' Flo vs Dutch Passion Flo

Heard the Blueberry differs alot between the two version with DJ's of course being the best and original version. The Flos are said to be mostly similar, but karmaically speaking, DJ's are the true goods while DP's are the knock off versions. DP basically took the Blue Heaven description to fit it into their Strawberry Cough description.

I have read nothing but negative reports about DP's versions of DJ's genetics. In this case, you get what you pay for.

I'm kinda big promoter of DP genetics in ex-Yugoslavian states just because i was convinced many times in their good genetics. They are absolutely best-buy. Good genetics, not overpriced.
I never had expireince with their BB or Flo, but some people did and they found some variations in it. I suppose it's a product of F2 seeds they used to sell (made from DJ's F1 they've been suplied). But, it was a one (or maybe 1,5) year ago.
They probably have their own versions now, stabilized enough. Maybe those versions differs from DJ's, but i'm sure they won't let you down.

First, it is a 70 day strain, not a 50 day strain like the write up on it says - there may be a 50 day pheno, I did not see it. I liked the DP, but would not pay money for it again, finished right, it is unique smoke. My guess is that you will get no different if you pay more, but I am often wrong.

dj sells f-13 now which i believe is the newest version of the flo/bluberry line to favor the sativa phenos and hashy flo taste.

i'm growin dp's flo but only just starting. looks promising.

I haven't grown the DJ Short Flo, but I have (and am still growing out) the Dutch Passion Flo, and I have nothing but praise for it. I haven't grown any other DP varieties either, so I'm loath to comment on DP in general, but this pack of seeds was great. I have two solid males that I'm collecting pollen from right now, and I will cross them with the two Flo females currently flowering, as F2s of these will be great fun. I'm also going to cross them with everything else I have (nine in all), as they're so good.
Despite all the Blueberry arguments about DP or DJ, I don't detect much hostility on the Flo side towards the DP version, as I suspect it hasn't changed that much - you may just have to search a little harder to find the really good one. As someone else mentioned, I also suspect the Flodica and F-13 are the variants either side of the Flo high - I hope to try and get something close to those with the specimens I'm crossing.

So I wouldn't worry about DP in this regard...:)

Damn elevator man that last pic looks like a giant fucking hand. That whole plant is bud. Very nice flo.

It's interesting, but the plant I just grew out from a clone of the one pictured didn't produce any more weight, despite being taller, having more branches, much more light and a bigger pot. And instead of growing buds all up the stem, it grew one very large bud on each stem, and then a few smaller ones further down. Strange, given it's the same pheno, in the same growroom...

I've had nothing but good experiences with feminised/female seeds, I usually grow 1 or 2 regular seeds then 1 femme seed to prevent a run of males.
My female/feminised seed experiences...

Dutch Passion...
- White Widow: good yield, very stable/uniform, but quite boring when it came to flavour/smell, and the potency was also quite ordinary which both surprised and disappointed me.
- Blueberry: small yield, very unique smell and taste certainly has blueberry characteristics, potency was ok but not great. Must admit to being a bit disappointed also with this because of all the hype, but seeing as i haven't tried DJ Short's original I'm just considering Dutch Passions version a preview.

GN03 Collection (Bros Grimm) ...
- Cinderella 99 (pineapple pheno) ...
My current alltime favourite. Fast finishing especially for a sativa, soaring and potent sativa high, the most delightful smell and taste that is unmistakable for anything but pineapple. I've grown the grapefruit pheno once ... that was similar, but the hairs were slightly more red than the yellowish tinge of the pineapple one, the high wasn't quite as strong, and that pineapple smell/taste was completely missing as if genetically switched off, replaced by a more normal (but still slightly fruity) smell. There's just something about the pineapple element that blows people away :)

Female Seeds ...
- Grapefruit. This was my favourite until i tried C99 (Grapefruit itself is 75% C99 and 25% 'fruity sativa'). Very similar qualities to C99 but a different fruityness, and the buds look even better.
- Northern Lights. Potent and low odour but small yield.
- ICE. Even more potent! Slightly more smell than NL though, but yield is about the same. This would have to be my favourite feminised indica simply because when I smoke indica i want a knockout and ICE provides the punch :)

I just checked, and you can get every seed i've mentioned above at Seedboutique (where i got them from)

Please do not be put off by a nominal price difference, it is a small percentage of the value of your crop. DJ has put his heart and soul into these seeds, and to buy the walmart version is just bad karma.

Well, it wasn't organic nutes! I used Vita-Link (GB), as I was growing hydro up to a few months ago, and had a huge amount left. They are OK to use in soil as well, and I haven't had any problems at all. If I stick to soil after this current grow, I'll probably try something soil-specific, like Canna Terra.

Trouble is, the yield from soil is nowhere near as good as hydro. But the overall quality is better, definitely. Whether Flo can cope with hydro, we'll see, but others say it's fine, as long as the nutes aren't too strong.

That large Flo from E-man does look like a large hand, and I see there are a good amount of foxtails there as well. My DJ Shorts Flo did not have foxtails even on the Sativa most pheno (60%). Is there any relation to foxtails and a racy edginess to the effects of various strains? You are absolutely correct Cannabis Cowboy, Dutch Passion gets their DJ gear from Legends as stated on the website. And that was like over 10 years ago.

The smoke is wonderful, a real blessing.

The Flo was awesome - I finished it last week...:(

I'd love to try DJ's own version if I could fit it in - he didn't have his label up and running when I bought the seeds, so I had no choice to go DP - plus now I'm working on so many different phenos from the one packet that I've got Flo coming out of my ears!

DJ seems quite happy with what I'm doing though - haven't ever had any negative feedback for working on the DP version, and though I'm sure they're older phenos, there's a couple of very interesting ones popped out of the second generation... :chin:

Yeah, I've posted shitloads on DP Flo, and tons of pics too - I don't honestly think there's that much difference, though I got mine before DJ had his for sale, so I had to get what was available, but I'm totally impressed.

I'm currently running a few small breeding tests with it, and am maturing seeds for generation three with one branch of my crosses. My favourite strain my far...:)

Someone mentioned DJ's F-13. If you're not really heart-set on Flo, you might want to check it out, I've heard great things about it and it looks amazing - would run it myself in a second if I had the time, as it is I'll have to settle for Grape Krush and SOL's Blockhead :/

Thanks for the flo report. Wonder what color the trichomes were before harvest. What height would you start to bloom if you have one 400w hps. Thinking 12", must double in height.
