DIY: Raft DWC Cloner

After seeing a video on growing lettuce with hydroponics I started researching a few methods of cloning. I've had EZ-Cloners but felt like doing something new. So I built a simple DWC Raft cloner. Lets see how it goes with these Sour Diesel cuttings. I'll be posting more pictures as the days go by until the cutting root, lets see if these root in less then a week...

Things you'll need to make this simple cloner:
Bucket
Air Pump and Hose
Air Stone
Styrofoam
Cuttings/clones
Thermometer

"I used Root tech rooting hormone on the clones and added 1oz per gallon of Earth Juice Root Stock to the water. I'll be keeping the PH at 5.8 to 6.1 and water temp around 70F.
You do not have to use root stimulator or the cloning gel but I thought it wouldn't hurt..."

:woohoo:

I did this a few years ago, two things. You can go up to 75 as long as you keep pumping air, and warmer is better for clones. Have you figured how to get them out without damaging the new roots? I had minor issues with that, and yours look tighter at the stems than mine did. The only advantage I found to rafts was you can diy with a steak knife. Good luck with it.

Haven't been around for a few days but I have roots on a majority of the clones with others about to pop! I'll upload pics as soon as I get my digital camera back. So basically 6-7 days and I have roots...
