I have seen many DIY threads on building rooms and gear and such, and I always see these home PVC netting systems for SCROG'n, but I've never seen how anyone builds them. Could someone shed some light on how this is done?
Sure. You'll need a frame, some eyehooks and some twine, cord, etc.
Just build your frame out of whatever you like as long as you can anchor the eyehooks into it.
Now just build your frame. Many people use PVC pipe. Build it to suit your space. So it can be square, rectangular, or even odd shaped if you happen to have a circular or say, trapezoidal grow area.
Place the eyehooks into the frame at regular intervals of say, every 2" or so.
Now you have a frame with eyehooks all around the perimeter.
Just run your cord through the eyehooks to weave a "grid" from hook to hook.
Tie off the cord and you're done.
You should now have a "grid" of twine running from eyehooks at opposite sides of the frame.
You can now attach your frame to your box, put legs on it to make it freestanding, etc.
I used PVC tubing for the frame, 1" plastic mesh from the fencing section of HD and twist ties to hold it to the frame. If I need a bigger hole, I cut them out with scissors. Some prefer 2", some 4". (the corner notch is for cords in the back of the cab)
Here's one I built just like the link provided above.
Here's new one i built. Same idea except i wanted 2x2 squares. I built the PVC frame the same way, but drilled holes through it every 2 inches. Then i weaved a nylon cord through all the holes, back and forth, over and under. It's one long piece of string. You could do individual strings for each hole if you prefer.
There you go t33to, there's a ton of ways to make a screen. Any way that seems easy to you is the right way. There's really no wrong way as long as in the end it works for what you want it to do.
