DIY Dual 315w CMH Reflector

Hello all. I have decided on using 2x CMH 315s to replace a 1000w SE magnetic in a 4x4 tent. However, there is no way to get even light footprint using two separate reflectors, so I would like to use 1x larger square reflector, like the Blockbuster, and modify it use 2x mogul bases with cmh lamp adapters.

Any advise on this setup? Many thanks!

I should also note that I will not use glass if hood is air cooled type. I am also considering going with the Xtrasun 42" Parabolic reflector.

I modified a small ac reflector since I wanted two bulbs in one hood air cooled with glass. Might be easier to just get the sunsystem one or dimlux. Lot of things to consider like safe wire routing, cmh sockets, plugs...
Unless its already fitted with two bulbs then just use the socket adapter in that case. Cmh adapter does add length to bulb so make sure there's enough room

Hey Pos! I will definitely use a quality pre-wired socket and ballast cable. Are there any direct CMH socket only available? I will use external ballasts, so I want something to maximize my 4x4 footprint.

Light mover!

Hey MJP. I thought about a light mover, but what I would want is actually a circular mover that only goes 90-180 degrees and then stops and turns around (repeat). I saw a few that were expensive and designed for a much bigger area than 4x4 tent. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Not that I've seen. Ebay has the GU10 lamp socket holder/base. Hydrofarm Raptor dual bulb hood with the sockets changed out for the gu10 would be a easyish way. Not familiar with that reflector so I don't know if it'd be better with the socket adapter or just changing the socket
