DIY Drying Cab

hey guys! its The Dopest, back with another DIY! this time i needed a drying cab because screens lying all over the computer room with bud on them not only looks bad but smells bad! :yoinks: this is a Workforce 30" storage cabinet from home depot $79.

i began by cutting a starter duct into the rear at the height of the carbon filter inside and traced out the 20"x20" house filter on the back to cut later.

here i cut within the boundaries of the filter about 1-2" and left strips for support across the middle.

this shows the filter and duct taped securely to the cab

inside i sat the DIY filter/stanely fan combo and taped the exhaust to the starter duct

the filter is 24" tall by 12"diameter and has a 3" bed of activated carbon pellets weighing in at almost 40lbs :joint:

here, i cut out between the supports on the shelves and added 1/4" hardware cloth mesh to the tops for ventilation so they can be used for drying popcorn buds or branches and whole plants or branches can be hung from the shelves easily...whew that runon sentence got away from me :bat:

top shelf is my jar collection, the bigass filter was used because the drying cab is in my veg/smokin room and it takes care of all the smells :joint:

hey Toad, for the filter i bought two 12" duct caps, a 6" duct cap and 6" starter duct(long one). cut a 6" hole in the center of one of the 12" caps and insert the starter duct from the inside of the cap, i riveted them together. the sides are 1/4" hardware mesh that came on a 2' x 10' roll and i double walled the inside 6" daimeter and outside 12" diameter for support. i used 1/4" fleece from walmart for the prefilter and the 36" long wire ties from home depot to hold the prefilter in place. the carbon came from ebay...

thanks for stopping by Toad and Easy!

3 days they are snapping usually, the airflow through here is superb and the smell is none!

I was just wondering. Would it be better to put the filter higher up in the cab and draw cold air from closer to floor level? OR does the stanley have enough suction so that it doesn't matter? Just curious
