Dispensary Owner Busted for Trading Marijuana

A Chico medical marijuana dispensary owner was arrested for trying to trade two ounces of marijuana for an item on Craigslist. When the dispensary owner, Joel Kelly Castle, responded to the Craigslist ad, he offered to trade the cannabis.

The ad poster contacted the police and they setup a sting. Castle was busted for the illegal "sale", as well as possession of more than five pounds of cannabis and a loaded semi-automatic weapon.

Let this be a lesson to dispensary owners to keep their mj business on the up-and-up!

As much as I know the media will try to put some spin on it to make a slippery slope argument, it sounds like this one might have actually done the green gene pool some good. No? This guy sounds like an Armenian "family" who ran a place I went to once in (I think) Tujunga. It just gave me that feeling like something wasn't right about it. There was a huge guy at the door who gave me a real hard time on the way in--demanding to see my ID and recommendation--then asking if I'm a cop. Inside, when I protested to the check-in guy about why the hassle, he told me that if I didn't like it I could leave. I did, and a short time later the place was raided. I heard they found a bunch of guns and either crack or powder cocaine. I wasn't surprised. Sometimes it works out for the best, IMHO.

Just out of curiosity, if the other person in the story was MMJ and had there rec, would you still be calling him all these names??

I mean, I dont see ANYTHING wrong with what he is doing, other then he's making himself probable for getting busted.

Obviously his actions were not the smartest, but really, ITS WEED...its not like hes caught stealing or anything like that...give the guy a break..

As long as the laws are the way they are (which sucks) then yea, I still say he's a bonehead.

All it would have taken was someone having a rec! I mean-he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and until we have better legislation? No way in hell I'd ever consider doing something like that.

He not only screwed himself over, he put all who use his dispensary at risk (raid) and IMHO that was a stupid thing to do.
