dismantling cool-tube light?

I use my cooltubes in a vertizontal fashion with the reflector removed. Some strains in my stable grow better in tree form with a vertizontal configuration.

well the thing is I don't want the cool tube...not going to use it...and they don't offer any other 400 watt lamps. Could I just take the glass away and use it like that? Or will the reflector melt or something?

my opinion ........DO NOT buy that cheap chinese crap !!!! Ebay has better deals on decent equipment than that .

spend a few bucks more & get something that will last more than a few months .

Do not skimp of one of the most important elements of the grow.

Why do you have to get that light at walmart? There are thousands of better options online, from actual grow shops/

..... wait, Walmart is now selling growlights????

Their website works kinda like Amazon, they sell random junk from direct ship Chinese wholesalers.

Sears website works the same way, they just got in a bunch of shit for selling nazi rings on sears.com, they claimed they had no idea it was on their sears.com also sells grow lights and hydro stuff.

okay for $100 more the local grow shop has a 400 watt mh/hps convertible system with the wing reflector I want...it's 240. Probably last longer too. oesn't come with the mh bulb. And I think you have to buy a special mh bulb right? For the convertible ones?

no , a regular 400 watt MH will work in pretty much any ballast built now days , 600's are the ones that need conversion bulbs cuz they're not made for the commercial market , 600 watts is hydroponic only .
