Discovering new music

What is your method for finding new music??

Amazon.com has been my best resource for sourcing new music lately.

I dont really use my friends much, just because I'm not really interested in their music.

So, how do you find new artists and bands?

I have about 6000+ tracks on hy HD, so I am not super driven to find new tunes...but when I want a new infusion of music fer my collection, I just ask a buddy of mine (who I met on Napster) for some.....he has over 400 GB of music....!!!!

When folks ask him what songs he has, he answers: " All of them..."

I have XM radio in the truck and scan around quite a bit. If I hear something I like I try to make a note and then check em out on the net and get a taste of what the rest of the disc is like. Once I got sat radio I completely quit listening to local radio as all they play are the same old tired classic rock hits. I listened to all that stuff back in high school and I'll be damned if I have to hear it the rest of my life.

This is one of the larger sources Ive found that caters to every taste in music. Not so good for singles but great for finding CD's with amped bit rates. A typical CD is 128bit and the avg 1 minute of song = 1 meg of mp3 space. When they amp the bit rate up into the 300+ bits the music usually sounds substantially better. [ and takes more space.] Windows media player displays the bit rate of songs in the info ticker.
