Dilettante plan of making Bogbubble S1

High ICers
I've created this topic for the several reasons...
The first is that since recent time i became the greater admirer of BOG's strains, in particular bogbubble and bogglegum.
The second consists in that i have only 3 seeds of bogbubble remains (and maybe 5 more in a bogmedley pack). Anyhow I would like to keep bogbubble genetics for the future growings and, maybe, experiments.
And the third reason certainly is my huge desire to try my forces in such interesting thing as breeding. Certainly at a dilettante level …

So at present I have a nice bogbubble mother plant. But I have no boy to pollinate it … thus my plan consists(as far as possible) of making some S1 seeds of this remarkable strain
I'll try to make the provisional plan of my future actions.

1. To take several cuttings from a parent plant.
2. To try 2 different methods of sex reversing on them.
a) stress
b) gibberelic acid treatment
3. To pollinate a parent plant with pollen received from reversed cuttings.

I would be very glad if you give me any comments or advices about this plan

/excuse my me for my english please... if it still possible.../

STS treatment... you can get it at photography stores but dont order the two chemicals together, and avoid ordering online if you can

Thank you all for replyes.

Thank you all for replyes.

As information sources for my experiment i plan to use this old (and not very old) articles from several scientists:

1. The Influence of environment on sex in hemp, Cannabis Sativa L. by Hugh McPee
2. The genetics of sex in hemp. By Hugh McPee
3. Sex reversal in hemp by application of gibberelin by C. K. Atal
4. Transgenic Studies on the Involvement of Cytokinin and Gibberellin in Male Development
5. The Influence of Growth Regulators Absorbed by the Root on Sex Expression in Hemp Plants by M.Kh. Chailakhyan and V.N. Khryanin
6. Carbohidrate-nitrogen ratios with respect to the sexual expression of hemp by Paul J Tally
7. The Role of Roots in Sex Expression in Hemp Plants by M.Kh. Chailakhyan and V.N. Khryanin
8. The influense of the substratum on the percentage of sex reversal in wintergrown hemp by John H Shapfner.

For gibberelic acid treatment i plan to use the growth stimulator (named "Buton") that available In our gardening shops and cost nearly nothing. I used this thing on my plants in my very first growing cycles and every time my treated plants showed bananas as a reaction to it, i also heard the same info from several growers who used it. i have to add that both times it was sativas and i dunno how indica should react to it. So time will tell..
I will post several photos soon.

Nice, detailed experiment smarx. I look forward to the pics and results. I have always wanted to do something along these lines. Maybe your thread will encourage me.

But if you reverse the sex then use that pollen you'll have feminized seeds. So you'd have to keep doing it each generation. I can't think that'd lend to stableness, I'd think the strain would dillineate, but what the fuck do I know? i'm a rook at all this shit.

Keep it simple, it is very easy to do.

Use controled light innteruption 1 week into flower. Half way into the "lights off" cycle, take one of the clones out of the flowering room and put it in the bathroom or closet under flouros for an hour and then put it back into the dark and continue on a normal cycle. Do this everyday untill some nanners appear (they will). Once nanners appear, just leave it in the flowering room (discontinue light innteruption on the selfed) on a normal 12/12. The forced herm will pollinate the other clone (genetically itself) and walla. 100% Female seed, of identical genetics....

Peace

Little bogbubble mum.

There's also "crazy-branchy" bogglegum, waiting for flowering.

Neptune

flower them for 15 weeks

male bananas will appear

collect pollen from said bananas

use pollen on next crop of clones

result:
100% female "selfed" seeds.

if he really wanted to breed it, wouldn't he want to get female AND male seeds? Maybe getting both isn't possible? idk

Am I missing something?

Why not grow out a few more beans to find a stud?
Id think that would give you less chance of getting hermie seeds.

thanx everyone for stopping by.
my general goal of doing all this was just to make some seeds for my own use and for sharing its with others..i didnt really plan to make "feminized" beans but if it happen, lets it be...anyway it was only possibility to save this genetic for me...

According to subject..
I put two cuttings in solution of "Gibbersib" (same thing as "Buton" but with higher concentration of sodium salts of gibbberelic acids) and put em under two fluoro tubes 18w each...
light cycle is 8/16 (8 light/ 16 dark)...
day temperature is about 18-20 C..
night temperature drop down to 8 -10 C..

:woohoo: ... Bacchus has kindly given me some Bogbubble seeds, so in parallel with started process i'll start em with a hope to get a good boy...

thank you vm for your help.
