Digital Timers...What's the simplest, most effective?

I have a few of those old "dial" ones laying around the house, but I lost the directions. Anyway, I don't mind replacing them, as I'd rather put new equipment in my growroom for safety reasons.

Took a trip to my local Home Depot today and checked out a few of the ones on the shelf. I want to make the right choice, so I thought I'd ask everyone here at IC that has good experience on a particular brand.

I'll need one with multiple settings because I'll be using it to flood a table a few times an hour.

Thanks ahead to eeryone, couldn't do this without the community :kissass:

Find an outdoor Intermatic in the black box. I think its rated at 20 amps. Check intermatics website and then check home depots to see if they got that particular model. Another possibility is the kind you need to wire which are for hot water heaters.

if your going to be turning in on and off many times a hour (flooding) than your going to need a short range cycle timer. These are expensive and will cost over $100. Those digital timer that are under $50 like intermetic won't cut it. i use intermetics and they have a 14 ons and 14 offs max.

If you're just using one for the water pump...nothing extravigant is needed. You can pickup digital timers at walmart that will allow you to program down to a min on at a time for about $12. It has to be be a digiatl, and not one with pegs or push pins. water pumps don't pull much power...no need to speand a fortune.

I've got one of the mechanical dial timers from Wal-Mart and its great. It's made by Intematic and is of the highest quality. It's adjustable to every half hour, simple to use, and can handle up to 1875 watts which is plenty for my needs. Only cost $10 and I have yet to have a problem with it in 3 years.

I've been using the Hydrofarm dual outlet digitals. 8 on/offs per day and is rated to 1200 w. Pretty easy to setup and it has an internal battery so if the power goes out it keeps the correct time. Had one in service on an espresso machine in the office for about 4 months now and its working great.
